watched ken roache's tribute to her at the award show last night. it was very touching.

They also lost their main props guy who has been around for ages. He committed suicide the day after the news of Anne Kirkbride's passing and his funeral is today

The writing for Corrie has become terrible. I know they had issues writing her out for her break, but now we know she had serious cancer, could they not have done better than a breakdown over trifle as Dierdre's last storyline?

Actress Katy Cavanagh has decided to leave Coronation Street at the end of her current contract, she will be on screen until late spring.

Katy Cavanagh quits Corrie as Julie Carp



Katy said: “I have decided it's time to take a break from the cobbles and pursue other projects and opportunities. I have loved every minute in the world of Julie Carp and I'm not ruling out a return to the Street in the future. However I am looking forward to a new challenge and a pair of flat shoes."

Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn said: “Everyone at Corrie wishes Katy all the very best and hopefully as far as Julie is concerned, the cobbles haven't seen the last of her.”

LOL, I grew up in Ireland so was always surrounded by Coronation street, Emerdale and Eastenders. Even the tabloid newspapers are like 20% dedicated to brittish soap operas . I do not watch it, i used to watch Eastenders a bit though

Most likely, I thought she was going to the other day (UK version) when she got upset Kevin wouldn't stay home and wanted to go out. She is a psycho

The fling will make a bit more sense if you look at the spoiler, helps with an exit story I guess. She has said she would like to be a permanent character but they have not signed her yet
