They have quite a few cats on Downing St, the Foreign Office has Palmerston mentioned, but the Treasury has the adorable. Gladstone (who isn't allowed near the other two despite being neighbours bc they are little meanies).
Cabinet Office has Evie and Ossie and a few politicians brought their own too.

One has a beautiful buff cat too, can't remember which office it is.
I used to work on Millbank, a short walk from Downing St and loved glimpses of the cats

^ I knew about the one at Number 10 there, cool that there are others.
I used to work at a forensic psychiatric facility, for federally sentenced inmates - they had a library cat. Yeah, it's cute to see murderers reduced to mush as they pet the kitty...

There was a blizzard in southern Sask. yesterday...
Saskatchewan RCMP
An #skstorm story from Weyburn Traffic Services CTSS:
Yesterday (March 7), while patrolling in the terrible weather, Cst. O and myself (Cpl. C) were on #SKHwy39. I saw something on the road at the last second and swerved around it. I thought it was a chunk of ice that had fallen off a semi at first, but then thought it looked like an animal. Cst. O couldn't swerve and it went under the center of his vehicle (he did not make contact with it). He also thought it looked like an animal and stopped. He backed up and the partially-frozen lump stood up and started walking towards him.
It was a small orange kitten nearly frozen. Our best guess is he was somewhere under a vehicle to get out of the elements. When the vehicle drove away he possibly was still in it and at some point he either jumped or fell out onto the highway. Traffic was going slow. The wet blowing snow stuck to him right away. He wasn't moving very much, but was meowing non-stop. Cst. O picked him up and put him in his truck and we dropped him off at the veterinary clinic. I checked in later to see what happened and was happy to see the little guy was alive and alert and meowing away!

I am so glad that this little kitten was saved. Now all he needs is a good home! He shouldn't have been outside in the first place!!

This is a photo of the 8 week old female kitten that we found a month ago. She was outside in -20c, half frozen with what we found out later was a spiral fracture of her left front leg. We took her to the local humane society and they took her immediately to a local vet who decided to try to save her leg by inserting a pin into the leg and wiring some of the other bones and we all crossed our fingers. My DH and I talked back and forth for a couple of days and finally went to the society and applied to adopt her. We got the call to get her the next day and she is now running around the house and eating like crazy. The pin was removed 2 weeks after it was inserted. She will always have some numbness in that leg but she is managing well.
We had a vote with our family and friends and her name is "Elsa". She is affectionate and loving despite her rocky start.
