I know there's a HUGE mall in Syracuse which is about 2 hours or so from Kingston, I think it's called the Carousel Mall....

I just went to Watertown last week-end. It's great there. They have a Target, K-Mart, Big Lots, Fashion Bug, Kohl's and Wal-mart (although the Wal-mart in Leray is WAY better since its a superstore. It's not far out of Watertown, you could GPS or map it).

Plus they have the Salmon Run Mall, which has stores like Gander Mountain (hunting, camping), JC Penny, Sears, Hot Topics, Best Buy, etc.

For dinning they have a Crackel Barrel and Ponderosa (my 2 favorites).

I did get pulled in to pay duty this trip but it was only $15 on over $200 worth of stuff (some baby), so it wasn't that bad. But the border is getting busier since the dollar is so high.

Depending on what you want to buy it is totally worth the trip. I bought Gerber Graduates at Big Lots for $1, they are $2.50 here. I also bought jeans for $19.99 and they are better than the ones I paid $70 for here! Plus if you are on Weight Watchers they have way more variety down in the US.

HTH If you have a specific question you can PM me.

I agree, Watertown is great if you don't want to travel to far from Kingston...It usually takes me just under an hour to get there. The selection difference (from Kingston shopping) is phenomenal. If you travel down 81 highway about 50 minutes further, you'll be in Syracuse...the Carousel Mall is Fantastic and has double or more the amount of stores that the Salmon Run Mall has. From Syracuse you could hop on I-90 west and travel about 30 minutes to the outlet malls in Waterloo. They have tons of great stores at outlet pricing...

Didn't know about the outlet stores in Waterloo!!! Might have to make a trip down and check it out.

If you do go to Syracuse you should try Macy's on one of the sale days. Fantastic deals!!!
