Thought I was going to see a dude who deals with the Whole skeletal system.Last night I realised it was a dude who just deals with feet!
Perhaps the answer does lie within my feet since it supports everything.
But since they are both busted,it is a start seeing this dude.

Skippy, it can be just amazing what shows up when the feet are worked on - I don't know if it's beyond reflexology, or not...
My husband can find my knee problems, back problems - where the pain is stemming from, like my hip or if it's muscular or a nerve. He's not 'trained', just amazing!
Wishing you some modicum of comfort or relief, at least!

oh no Skippy-is that good or bad for you? Sometimes people don't want surgery so they find it good that they can't have surgery-is that the case with you? I hope you get in to see the next specialist quickly and that one can help you!

Good that there is no surgery, however I was hoping for an alternate treatment. Now on to the next specialist, probably in the fall.
Unfortunately my cheapness took hold today and I took the bus rather than a cab.Now I am in such agony and have nearly reached my daily limit of meds.so early in the day
I thank you for your care and concern and hope that you are having a pain free day.

Oh that sucks. Do you have anyone that can give you a ride to some of your appointments? That would help you cut down the cost of repeated taxi rides. Just a suggestion. I hope you are able to rest and feel better.

    I'm back,everyday is a challenge.
No sooner am I out of bed, than I need my Tylenol 3,sometimes Gravol too.
Everything is worse and my fear of not being able to walk, may become a
    reality.
It is really draining, and I'm starting to sleep during the day because of it.
Even now as I write this,I'm ready for bed-sigh...
Back to the Doctor come Wednesday,so hopefully something will come of it.

    So sorry to hear that.

Just curious (& you're welcome to tell me to shut up if it makes ya feel better ), but have any of your doctors suggested some sort of brace or orthopedic shoe? I'm wondering whether your pain would lessen if your foot had more support?

I say that in a been there, done that way. I broke 9/10 metatarcels in my feet & spent at least 2 months walking with the broken bones. Doc misdiagnosed me, said the swelling in my feet was caused by the dialysis. Boy, di the Dr feel guilty when the truth came out. I had air casts on for 6 weeks to allow the bones to heal, then graduated to a brace (funny lookng medaeval torture device - I had to stop wearing mini skirts for a while, cause I was scaring people ).

Of course, since I'm the queen of "that's not how the medical text says you should react", I ended up with a blister that got badly infected. I graduated to full-time in a wheelchair for about a month while I had skin grafts to try to heal the wound & give my feet a chance to rest. That's when I realized how hard it is to get greasy tire marks out of light grey carpets.

Went back to the air casts after that for another 2 years, before I got the othopedic shoes & orthotics. Haven't broken anything since, even tho I now have osteoporosis, so that's a good sign.

Sotry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent, just thought I'd share my experiences.

If you need someone to vent to, feel free to pm me, I know all about having fun with my health.

How long did you stick with it?

When I first started walking in the shoes (after 2+ yrs in air casts), it hurt like the dickens for the first 2 months. Started with a pain in my ankles, then knee, then lower back pain. The orthodics needed to be adjusted a few times, until things balanced out properly. I also needed to use a cane at first, to take pressure off.

Right now I'm in limbo waiting for a new pair of shoes (because I'm on disability, I get new shoes every 3 yrs, but because of the idiotic city strike & some new equally stupid rules, I'm still waiting for approval, grrr) & it's causing me a ton of pain along my spine, & the bottom of my right foot has been a bit swollen. Yes, I'm weird.

One more question, have you tried orthotics? They can make a difference too.

Hope today is a pain-free (or at least minimal pain) day.

I believe this dude deals with nerves.
As far as my feet go,there is nothing that can be done.
With time my condition will worsen

My issue (at least with my feet) is charcots, basically my bones are soft, crack & rearrange themselves crooked when fusing. On top of that I have a bit of neuropathy in my fingers & toes from being diabetic for so many yrs. In a way it's good since the pain is less (can't feel it as much), but then the problem is that I keep going which causes more issues. Sometimes ya can't win.

Good luck with the nerve specialist. I know all about conditions worsening with time. Probably won't be walking on my own by 50 (I'm 41 now), but ya never know. I've already had more lives than most cats.

Hope today was a good day for you, painwise.
