Could you please tell me where did it come from?
I really wanna know, if there is any indication that it applies for Ontario? I tried to use in-store coupon and manufacturer coupon thousand times and was always rejected! Last time I even spoke to a store executive manager, and he showed me a printed copy of RCSS Ontario coupon policy where it was clearly said : "Only one coupon can be used toward purchase one item.", that is why I have to choose which one to use.

+ 1 Totally agree, even though maybe you can stack in-store coupon with manufacturer coupon,
but definitely you can't stack save.ca and brandsaver coupons. I think a manager who Okey'd it just wasn't aware of their own coupon policy, but I'm sure he or she will check with customer service and will refuse doing it again...

she crumbled your coupon? omg you should ask her for her name and ask to speak to her supervisor or get the headoffice number...infact you should still report your experience, as that was unacceptable !

That coupon policy is for and from RCSS, there was nothing that indicated it was not applicable in Ontario. Email RCSS dirently and ask for their policy. They copy/paste it from canned replies so it probably will be identical to what I showed you. At least then you can take it with you to a store, with a Head Office name on it and say "SEEE!!!" to the store manager
(disclaimer: I don't recommend doing it exactly like that lol)
There are quite a few people in Ontario on SC that can confirm they can AND do use 1 mfc and 1 store coupon per item. Your store manager is just being mean.
In Short: That email came directly from RCSS when I emailed them.Coupons = Little pieces of paper you get FREE from the stores, from reps and from companies (ie: Not gold)

I contacted Independent (part of the Loblaws/RCSS) chain regarding their coupon policy. Received the same (but somewhat confusing) response (see below). I wanted to combine the $5.00 Aveeno (instore) with $2.00 save.ca for the full size product which costs 10.99. After reading the coupon policy and coupon (instore), I don't think it would be possible because the instore coupon states that it cannot be combined with any other offer. I haven't tried, but I have a feeling that they will give me a hard time. If I have time this week I will give it a try (will make sure to bring along a copy of the e-mail for back-up)!
E-mail response requesting clarification of coupon policy:
Dear XXXXX,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
Essentially, a customer may use more than one manufacturer's coupon up to but not exceeding the retail price of the item only if the coupon does not state limit one coupon per purchase. In the event the coupon states something along the lines of “buy xx save $xx.xx” and does not indicate any limits, one coupon needs to be presented for each of the number of units indicated on the coupon to obtain the savings indicated. Also, where a retailer accepts a manufacturer's discount coupon for taxable goods purchased, tax is payable by the customer on the full price of the item unless the coupon entitles the customer to a free product.
Both a manufacturer and an in store coupon may be applied to an item - however, the combined value cannot exceed the retail price. (i.e. the customer cannot receive cash in return).
Online coupons should be accepted (as long as the coupon indicates the retailer will be reimbursed); the only time an online coupon is not accepted if there is communication sent regarding possible fraudulent coupons. Please note coupons that are photocopies are not accepted.”
Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any future questions or concerns.
Sincerely,

Great brag. Sorry the cashiers were so rude. Perhaps they are just jealous but also lazy.
Keep going back. You had some great deals there to be proud of.

I was refused the free Old Spice Body wash (in store coupon) because I used the buy 2 save $3 P&G coupon to buy the Old Spice Deoderant. I didnt argue b/c I didnt have a copy of the coupon policy and even with that I think its still unclear since the instore coupons do state that it cannot be combined with any other coupons or offers.

Thanks, I will!

But anyway, according to the e-mail you got, and divaonadime received,
. But most of the coupons state either "one coupon per purchase" or "one coupon per item". In-store coupons also have a line "cannot be combined with any other coupons or offers", or "one coupon per purchase". So, even if I e-mail them and I would get the same answer, and print it out, I'll also have to find coupons that don't have any limitations stated on them...but it'll be hard to find...a customer may use more than one manufacturer's coupon up to but not exceeding the retail price of the item only if the coupon does not state limit one coupon per purchase.

sweet! Thanks. Did not know that you could use an in-store plus a manufacturer coupon at RCSS. Would really like to try that!
Sorry you had some difficult experiences; that can be very frustrating! But good for you for standing your ground.
And...as a country that prides itself on being officially a bi-lingual nation, it's a bit frustrating that french coupons are so difficult to use if you are anywhere outside of Quebec. I mean, you can know a surprising amount of french just from osmosis with the bi-lingual packaging. LOL. Then again, I suppose some people in Quebec probably get a hard time using English coupons too.
