Only one year. Tax rules change yearly and the software has to meet Revenue Canada most up to date rules. That is with any tax software.
Quick Tax has a free online version if you ONLY have income to declare:
You qualify to use the QuickTax Free Online Edition if:
- You receive T-slips such as T4s and T4As
- You have tip income or pension income to claim
- You are not self-employed
- You do not have invest income
- You only receive standardized federal & provincial deductions

Yes, only one year. I don't think any tax software will cover multiple years - things change every year. But you can do more than one family member's return with Ufile.
In the past I used to have a spreadsheet that worked fairly well, and it was free once I developed it. It had to have minor modifications done each year, it took some time, but it was free! I like Ufile because it's a bit simpler, and files electronically for you too.

Hi, If you earn a low income, you may qualify to have a charted accountant do your taxes at one of the C.A.O. free clinics. If you want more info, try googling The Charted Accountants of Ontario. They have a link, which will direct you to the list of free clinics. I am not sure though, if they are offered outside the greater Toronto area. :o( if you live outside of Ontario, it may be likely that the governing body for accountants in your area offers the same service. cheers, Pamdaa

I use cutetax I think the name is. But CRA has a community volunteer income tax program that has work shops around during tax time and volunteers will do your taxes for free. Need to be less then $27,000 in income I think. Here is the link. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/vlntr/nd-eng.html I used to volunteer with them but never have the time to do it anymore while I'm working on my designation.

I used StudioTax as well... surprisingly good for a free program. I expect I'll send a 'donation' after I get our refund.
Always looking for reasonably healthy food coupons, non-dairy products, and friendly cleaners (esp Method brand).
