ExpiredWell, I'm a newbie to the forums..but I've been stalking for months

Two questions:
1. Does the Telegraph Journal ususally have the smartsource coupon insert? I don't subscribe so I have no clue. Right now, I'm relying on Red Plum flyers that come with my blue ad bags.
2. Do you guys have any good coupon shopping stops? I have had good luck at the Shoppers over east and some at the SS on Rothesay (that are manufacturers, not in-store).
Would love to get connected for some local trades if anyone is interested in meeting for a coffee to make some trades that help us all out. Anyone interested in that?

Hey great to see another SJ'er here.
1. Yes they do they come in Saturdays papers(at least by us they do).
If you have a local convience store that you go to often ask them Sun. morning if they have any left over papers, they can't sell them but they can give them to you, you can even just ask for the coupon inserts.
2. Zellers/ Shoppers/ Superstore. I do most of my shopping on the west side and always check the end caps first to see what's been reduced. Also Zellers & Walmart will price match, pair that with some couponing and you get pretty good deals.

Thanks for the welcome
I don't see much activity in the SJ forum so I didn't know if we had a very active SC community.
I appreciate your help - I see the next insert is scheduled for March 27 so I'll make sure I hit my parents up when their paper comes in...and I'll check with my local convenience store. Good tip.
I've done really well since January on some sales + coupons - so I'm addicted. I was able to pick up a few Dove bodywash at Shoppers for 2.99...and a few feet down the aisle they had the 1.50 off coupons so I was pretty pleased - and so was my husband
Now this may seem silly, but what's an end cap? The end aisle?
Is there an advantage to price matching Zellers and WM?
Thanks for any help you can give and your warm welcome.

LOL! about the Dove BW, just did the same thing today and the Cashier went "Wow". Saved over $54.
I know it is totally addictive, in Feb. alone I was able to pretty much stock up on personal care items for almost a year for all of us, I have now cut out a huge chunk of our grocery budget.
End cap is the end of the isle, of and always check the clearence shelves, you'd be
surprised to see how much you can save there.
Price matching is more about convience, but with Zellers you get HBC points (which I roll into Airmiles), so if something is on sale at as Superstore but I was already going to Zellers it save me a stop and I get the points.
Now furture shop will price match + 10% and I think Sears & the Source do the same, that can save you quite a bit.
Hope this helped!

HA - Feb was like that for me too - between the Secret, Old Spice, and Pantene coupies, my stash is looking pretty healthy. Gotta love the savings!
Like I said, I'm just getting into the clearance sales - which is kind of sad because you can obviously save so much money!
Great idea to PM to get the points. That alone is worth the effort to PM the products. Do you PM at customer service? I've never tried :S
FS will price match and give you another 10%? That might come in handy!
Very helpful info - happy savings!

I *think* you can PM at the check out but I always go to the CS desk as I usually have 18 coupons too, and don't like having a line up behind me. If you do do it in line make sure you have everything ready to go first, I find the more organized you are at check out the less likely they get crabby at you.

At both Walmart and Zellers, you can PM at any regular cashier. At Zellers, they can also give rain cheques at any regular cashier, but at WM you have to get them from customer service. That's my experience anyway!
I recently moved from one part of the city to another, and no longer get the "blue bag" of flyers/coupons that you Mamasavesmoola mentioned. I miss it!

Janey- I think you can call to have them delivered to your new place b/c we used to get them too but for some reason they have stopped delivering them so I'm going to call tomorrow to look into. I miss my flyers plus the coupons that used to come with them, lol...
mamasavesmoola- another good thing is the SPC Vip card from the LouLou magazine. I'm hoping it comes back out this year b/c it has saved us a lot. Basically if you subscribe to the magazine (which is usually about $15 for the yr) they send you the VIP SPC card and you can use it at numerous places but the main one is Zellers. You save 10% off your purchase each time. We have saved quite a bit from it since I also PM other store flyers
***I completely agree that it's best to have everything organized before you even get to the register that way it's easier for the cashier. I always tell the cashiers I have coupons and do they want them at the beginning, end or with each product. If pm'ing items I find it's best to put up each item with the flyer and have the coupon with it ( they will also want to take your flyer so I'd make sure you no longer need it)***
