The link for checking library material (including games) would be different for each region you are in.

Just go to your local library's webpage and do a search. If you do not know the website, just do a swagbuck (or google) search.

A lot of the larger area's have multiple libraries that you can borrow from. If you put an item on hold, it will often ask you which location you'd like to pick up your material at when it's available. Very handy!

Wow, interesting. Thanks for the info! I will have to check and see whether our library does this as well.

This is great, if your library carries them.

Unfortunately, the Windsor Public Library (in Ontario) doesn't have video games. We do have some games for the computer, but they are almost all for children or educational.

I'm going to have to check out my library and see if they do. It would be great to borrow games from them, they are really expensive to rent from the video store to figure out if I like them.

Keep in mind that even if your library does carry games that you probably wont find them by looking around the library.

Check the catalogue and put them on hold (same with good dvd's). There is usually such a demand for them that they are always out. I know for a lot of the wii games we rented I had to wait 2-3 months for them (somewhere like 50th on the hold wait list).

But that's the same with anything that is popular (books, dvd's, games, etc).

It also helps to try different searches (ie, "wii", "super mario", "nintendo"). I know I couldn't find one game we really wanted and finally after a bunch of different searches we found it (think it was paper mario).

Thanks for the suggestion about putting games on hold. I got lucky the day I went and Star Wars was available... it's been slim pickings since then. I'm hoping to get Star Wars back so that I... er, the kids... can finish it.
