It would be interesting to hear if anyone tries any of the recipes. Maybe I'll finally understand why my great-grandparents look so cranky in our old family photos -- could it have just been a bad case of indigestion?

I LOVE this posting. I've been a fan of old cookbooks for years. I'll be spending a lot of time browsing through these. Will let you all know if I try some of the recipes.
