I too hate Dell - I loved my HP and love my Toshiba

Laptops are a personal preference so I second the recommendation to go into a Best Buy or Future Shop or at a Kiosk (Dell etc) and get an idea of what feels right for you.

I have the Dell Inspiron 1720 and it's my third love. First love being K and second love being my phone.

I fell in love with the screen - it's sharp, SUPER sharp - it's glossy and it's beautiful... it also comes with a full keyboard which I love because it makes working at home so much easier.

Plus they make no bones about exchanging your laptop if you have any issues. They are really good at handling any issues. Plus he'll be able to get a corporate discount as most companies offer employee discounts as part of the work perks programs.

If there's one thing that I don't like about it, is that it's heavy, but I don't have to lug it around - it never leaves the house, so that matters not to me.

I've had mine for about 2-3yrs now and can't say enough good things about it.

I am hoping that I can officially join the Toronto threads and make all the meets in the summer...depending on if I can find a job that will pay the bills there...I'm a little discouraged though because apartments in downtown TO are expensive
Ideally I would like to just get an agency and model but idk if that would be possible without me being broke as heck LOL
