I went to the one in my area yesterday ( Sun ) . My local CT has the grand re-opening going on this current week i.e April 30 - May 6 .
They had the exact same deals except for the food items .
They seem to have similar grand re-openings all over the GTA on different weeks .
I only bought $ 10 worth of stuff but still got the FREE bag @ the cash . Its a pretty high quality bag.
I mostly bought the cleaning supplies ( 88 cents , 44 cents ) and the aluminum foils ( 44 cents ) which are there on the front page under special buys .
BTW there are NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS during this whole week on the special buy products . So if you are planning to buy things before the sale starts & going in later on to get Price Adjustments it won't happen .
After you buy your receipt will actually state that i.e NO PRICE ADJUSTMENT during the grand re-opening sale .

What's with Canadian Tire now starting to sell groceries like bread , rice , etc...I guess they are trying to compete with the WM Supercentres .
My local CT which is pretty big is still not carrying these food items ( rice , bread etc ) except for Chips & Pop .

I think what the poster meant was that people try to go before the sale starts and buy all the stuff that will go on sale, so they buy it at the regular price.
Then they go back the week of the sale and try to get the price adjusted from regular price to sale price.
To prevent this CT is not doing these adjustments.Add me on twitter and I'll add you back! Just mention you are from SC!
