I keep hoping that one day my insurance will cover it. Some insurances are starting to cover it now. Given that I live in the high North, I'm afraid of losing my night vision. That would be catatrophic since it's "night" a good chunk of the year. But I am ready to be done with glasses. It would be really nice to see the alarm clock clearly, or be able to wear sunglasses!!

My insurance covers me for a stinkin' $300 a year for eyes, but we have flex credits (hubby has the same as we work for the same employer) and we diligently saved up our credits together and put it towards the procedure for me. Covered about 40% of it.

That said, what happens if I do get refunded 100% from Lasik?

My coverage is even less and I have one of the PSAC coverages, I think. Mine is 80% of $250 every 2 years and hubbies is similar. I hope that being a PSAC coverage it may be covered one day. But then again, there is no where here to get it done, so I'd have to go to Edmonton, which would increase the cost.

I had prescription sunglasses before but they were really heavy, now it's really neat to wear just a nice pair of sunglasses, you're so right!

I am a fan of the ones that curve around and I couldn't wear that before because the prescription glass couldn't bend as much.

I think more and more places are starting to cover it, so there's hope.
