So happy I found this thread, I have been having some stomach issues lately and I have been doing some research and found that it is likely I could be gluten intolerant so I have decided to go gluten free I am glad I can go through this thread and find some recipes and ideas

    Purity cornmeal, not gluten-free

I am taking up a plight with Smuckers for their misleading branding...

I have tried the gluten-free pizza at Pizza Pizza. I like it a lot! I usually order the gf pizza with New York style pepperoni and double cheese.

Had a great few days in PEI this summer. Stayed and ate at The Home Place in Kensington. It is the first time my celiac husband has travelled and eaten without any worrying. Great food, dinners and breakfasts and wonderful PEI hospitality. We went back for an overnight to have their Roast Goose dinner Nov 1st and picked up some of Glenda's GF 12 inch meat pies. Check it out if you are ever out that way.

Didn`t know this thread existed. Awesome!

My diet is hit and miss with gluten. Some foods are worse than others.

I ordered gluten free pizza from Pizza Nova previously - it was delicious! And my tummy was happy with me lol

Good choice! Apparently there really aren`t any tests from doctors to say if you are gluten intolerant - its just trial and error by diet.

Not to mention gluten isn`t good for your diet to begin with. Gluten free everything!!

I happened to catch this show the other night. They talked about gluten intolerance/celiac disease but didn't address or acknowledge gluten sensitivity.

^Awhile ago I tried some store brand GF snickerdoodle cookies from Aldi's. I've never had snickerdoodles before so don't know if they taste like they're suppose to but they were pretty tasty. Reminded me of macarons (the French cookies, not the one with coconut).

i suffer a gluten allergy. Much different than an intolerance or celiac. I cannot even bake for my family, just the dust sends me into an allergic reaction. Since the diagnosis I have eventually gone completely grain free also. No rice, oats, or any other grain. I feel great!! I do not like the gluten free products available. They are very high in carbs (the rice and other substitutes are not carb friendly), including high amounts of sugar. I do my own grain free baking using almond flour or coconut flour--mostly just my morning pumpkin protein muffins. there are lots of good websites out there with some wonderful and not so wonderful recipes. Honestly it just suits me better to eat a lot of veggies, nuts, seeds, and lean protein. I do fruit also.

Abby5, we bought the Pilsbury cookie dough and thought it was great! I have the pie and pastry dough to try but I don't know what to make with it! We found it in FreshCo and Superstore in Canada.

To recap we have a 4yo daughter with Celiac. We keep bread and crackers separate (butter and peanut butter too) and the rest we prepare all gluten free. While we try to minimize processed food and eat foods that are naturally gluten free or cook from scratch, sometimes busy family life wins.

When time permits I like to bake bread in our bread maker. I have yet to find a store brand we like better than fresh. I have a standard white loaf that prepares nicely. Does anyone have one they have been successful with heartier grains?

Thanks for giving this thread some life!

Granger I have not been able to find a recipe for bread I like I like the demasters one and rudi multi grain. I too found pie crust and cookie dough in Canada but pizza dough only in states
i made a really good slow cooker lasagna.
i used the rice lasagna noodles. You layer them with sauce and cottage cheese and grated cheese then put cheese on top. ( do not cook the noodles primer) cook on medium for 4 hrs. Was perfect
