I don't seem to have many recipes that use ground beef (just like the potatoe thread i started,I'm tired of always making the same old thing) and we have Lots of ground beef. I would Love to get some new recipes that use g.beef.

Mostly casseroles - check under that thread for Shipwreck recipe. I like that one because you don't have to fry up the meat ahead of time.
Another fave - odd name, but it's yummy!
Chinese Hekka
--------------
1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
Brown both in a bit of oil, drain off fat.
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 cups shredded carrots
2 cups sliced celery
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water (if I add a can of mushrooms, I don't drain them, just throw the can contents in, and omit adding extra water)
Combine veggies mix and meat mix in 2L casserole. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Serve over rice.
-----
In place of shredding cabbage and carrots, I have used the bagged tricolour coleslaw mix, and it's fine.
If you want a thicker sauce, can add a bit of a cornstarch and water mixture near the end of cooking.
I like to add peanuts to the casserole, too!Last edited by Natalka; Mon, Sep 6th, 2010 at 09:53 PM.

Stuffed pasta shells - stuffed peppers...manicotti (I use hamburger, mozzarella cheese, onion, celery, peppers and rice). Lasagna. Hamburger macaroni (a chunky spaghetti sauce and noodles mixed)...we eat a lot of hamburger (chicken's getting to be really expensive).

I don't use alot of ground beef but I do use ground turkey and chicken. I make my version of Hamberger Helper, Mexican and reg Lasagne, quesadilas, Sheppards Pie, Stroganoff, Pasta sauce and Chili (:p), Meatloaf
You could also make:
Stuffed peppers
Manicotti
Beefy Mac N' Cheese
Sloppy Joes
Kefta- seasoned ground meat from Morocco
This list is endless................

http://www.1001recipe.com/recipes/food/glazed_meatloaf/
This balsamic glazed meatloaf is SOOOOOO good! I always hated the meatloaf that my mother made when i was a kid. I think it involved the onion soup mix and I always had to force myself to eat it lol. The glaze on this meatloaf is so good that I just make up a jar of it to use as bbq sauce and it takes 5 seconds. First time I made meatloaf in my life I made this one a few months ago cause I thought bf would like it, and all I usually make with ground beef is tacos. He likes it so much i make it about once a week now.
