Sorry, gryphon, not since my son was a pre-teen and still getting the Archie digests.
And, yes, I know there's a whole new comic world out there!

I absolutely adored Archie comics! I had hundreds of Archie books! I was standing in line at the store a while back and noticed that the artwork for them now is horrible. Looks nothing like it used to. :/

it would probably be quicker to list what i don't read.

i read pretty much any DC, Marvel and/or Dark Horse comics. i'm a HUGE neil gaiman fan and have all the Absolute Sandman volumes [including Absolute Death which i just got for my birthday yesterday] as well as a few other graphic novels he put out. What else? i loved The Preacher by garth ennis and Blankets by craig thompson.

a few years back my public library opened a graphic novel section and now i almost always have some little gem book with me at all times. my brother really got me into it, even though i used to think comic books were for little boys. he changed my mind for sure.

I prefer the term Graphic Novels

I love Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. I've been reading the Dark Tower series based on the books by Steven King, and I love Blankets by Craig Thompson! I read one graphic novel which was based on Franz Kafka's short stories (I <3 Kafka) which was awesome. I think I just stood in Chapters and read it

I don't read "super hero" comics though

my brother tried and tried to get me to read Blankets and i just wasn't interested but i finally broke down and then read it in a couple hours, totally absorbed into it. it was great!

i haven't seen any kafka graphic novels but i will keep my eye out because that sounds like something i'd be really into.

Sandman is indeed awesome. I never read preacher though. Ennis's work for the most part, isnt my cup of tea. I did like his writing of the punisher for marvel comics though.

I read graphic novels.... from my library, since they're free. I love graphic novels. I don't really have a type I choose, just as long as they are long.

When you saud superhero comics, do you mean anything published by marvel and dc or will you read stuff form the big two that doesnt neccessarily involve superheroes per se.

For example, two of my favourite marvel stories are somehwat within the superhero genre but nothing like the conventional superheroes.
One is the magus saga from Jim starlin's warlock. this was done in the 70's and was one of the most brilliant stories ever. It didnt feature superheroes exactly, ( the story led into another which did bit was still awesome)

The other was by Alan Moore and Alan Davis and was called Jasper's warp. It involved the character, captain britain and truly showed the begginings of what Alan Moore woud later do in comics.
