I'm so excited!!!! I've been reading and learning a lot from everyone on here on how to lower your bill at SDM using coupons and it has never worked for me before! I was determined today that I would make it work! I did not have as many coupons or as much time as I wanted (on my lunch hour), but here is the breakdown.

    10 Greenworks
    4 travel size Huggies wipes
    9 Gillette deodorants
    8 LB chocolate bars
    1 Lever soap
    I Glade Fragrance Collection Candle

I handed all my coupons over at the end. The original total was $87.47, plus $11.35 tax = $98.84.

After all my coupons, the total was $48.97, plus $11.37 in tax = $60.34.
My real total before tax is only $38.97 because I am mailing in for the $10 Glade gc's!!!!!

    Points received:

    Regular points: 870
    Product bonus points: 12,340
    Store bonus points: 18,500
    Total points earned: 31,710
    (+ 1250 pts. on MC) 1,250

Grand total: 32,960 points for $38.00!!!!

Thank you all for the great tips and ideas on how to do this!

(P.S. I forgot to mention that I also used one of my $10 gc's from the Stouffer's promo, so that brings the total down even more!)

LOL! So excited, I left that out! I bought one soy based candle, currants & acai smell from The Fragrance Collection by Glade ($10.99 minus $5 coupon). With rebate mail-in, I'm ahead on that one!

Thank you. I'm still learning and hope to get better each time. One thing I must do is have a larger stack of coupons because you never know which deals are going to come up.

Ok, so I tried to do this at my SDM and purchased 75.00 before coupons today...used coupons and came to 35.00. No bonus points were allotted as I was told by the manager that the bonus points are before use of coupons.

Why did I have such luck??

Cjunk - I always had this problem too, before today. Not sure what I did different, except took a calculator and made sure my total was $84 before taxes and coupons, gave my coupons all at the end, and somehow it worked today.

    WTG, great shopping !!!
I admit I haven't taken time to figure out how to make the most of shopping at SDM...I don't shop there much except for milk (cheapest place in town I think) and checking out the clearance section. My experience using coupons there varies. As far as earning all the extra Optimum points I haven't gotten the hang of it....though I should get a SDM GC and use that to pay my purchases...GC would last me forever though, LOL.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that I also used a $10 SDM gc from the Stouffer's promotion, so that brings my total to $28 plus taxes!!!! Wowser!!!!! LOL

how many regular points you earned? if equal or over 750, you should get the bonus points because the promo is in system.

About 80.00 but got no points as she told me the coupons brought it down to 35.00 so that meant no bonus. Asked to talk to the manager who also confirmed the same. I got no bonus.

Was over 3000 points due to the wipesx2 that I bought but still no bonus. She did deduct the coupons with the products as she entered as opposed to at the end of all of it as she insisted on reading each one and examining each product carefully for sizes etc. Manager said too bad, I needed to spend more after coupon deductions. Disappointed as I probably would have bought some of my stuff elsewhere.
