Rules and Regulations
1. Safeway Texas Hold’em (the “Contest”) will commence January 2, 2011 and will operate until the close of business on January 27, 2011 (the “Contest Period”) in all participating Safeway stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario. The Contest is open to residents of the above provinces who are over the age of majority according to the laws of the province in which they reside, subject to the exceptions set out in Rule 8.
2. No purchase necessary. Customers must have a free Safeway Club Card in order to participate in the Contest. Customers will receive one (1) Safeway Texas Hold’em game ticket (the “Ticket”) every time they shop at Safeway and have their Club Card swiped during the Contest Period. Customers wishing to obtain a Ticket without purchase may swipe their Safeway Club Card at the Customer Service Desk. Customers without a Safeway Club Card may apply for a free Safeway Club Card at the Customer Service Desk. Limit one (1) Ticket per customer per day, subject to bonus Ticket provision in Rule 3.
3. Customers will receive one (1) bonus Ticket for every three (3) weekly Contest Participating Products purchased per order when they swipe their Safeway Club Card during the Contest Period. See store signage for a weekly list of Participating Products.
4. Approximately 13,507,200 Tickets are available for distribution during the Contest Period, while supplies of Tickets last. Each Ticket contains one (1) perforated break-open window on the front of the Ticket. There are three (3) ways to qualify to win a prize in the Contest:
INSTANT WIN
Customers must break open the window on their Ticket to see if they have qualified to be an instant prize winner in the Contest. Tickets that qualify as Instant Win Tickets will reveal the message ‘WINNER!’ printed in a green banner on the inside (right panel) of the Ticket.

The number of Instant Win prizes and approximate odds of winning are those available at the outset of the Contest. Total number of Instant Win prizes available to be won diminishes as prizes are awarded. No substitutions will be allowed. All approximate values outlined above represent the approximate value of each prize on December 1, 2010 and are subject to fluctuation.
* The Las Vegas Trip Prize consists of a RedTag.ca three (3) night trip for two (2) persons to Las Vegas. The Trip Prize includes: round trip airfare for two (2) persons departing from the international airport closest to the winner’s residence in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon or Winnipeg to Las Vegas (stop-over may be required) and one-room accommodation for three (3) nights at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Trips cannot be booked until six (6) weeks prior to departure date and are on a space availability basis only. Standard blackout periods apply, including Christmas, New Years, March Break, Spring Break, and holiday weekends in Canada and the US. Meals and beverages, travel taxes, insurance, travel related fees, transportation to and from the airport in Canada and Las Vegas, and personal items are not included and are the prize winner’s sole responsibility. The value of the Las Vegas Trip Prize represents the approximate value of the prize on December 1, 2010 and is subject to fluctuation. Winner and traveling companion must have valid passports to travel to the US and must travel on the same itinerary. Prize is non-transferable and no cash or other substitution is allowed. The Las Vegas Trip Prize must be booked and trip must be taken prior to January 28, 2012. The Trip Prize does NOT include connector flights or overnight accommodation if winner resides outside of the airport area. The winner and traveling companion must sign a full release form to obtain the prize. If a travel companion is under the age of majority his/her legal guardian must also sign a form of consent and release.
ONLINE GAME
Each Ticket contains a unique nine (9) character PIN on the inside (left panel) of the Ticket. To participate in the Online Game, customers must log on to www.safeway.ca prior to 11:59 PM Mountain Time on February 10, 2011 (the “End Date”), select the appropriate link, and enter the PIN appearing on their Ticket. Participants must then follow the on-screen instructions to determine the number of entries earned in weekly draws for prizes. Once the on-screen message reveals the number of entries earned by the participant, he/she will be asked to provide personal information (full name, telephone number, email address and Safeway Club Card number) in order to be included in the draws. Weekly Draw Winners will be contacted by telephone and/or email by Promotivate LP (“Promotivate”) within two (2) business days of each draw to confirm their status as potential winners. Participants must save their Ticket as proof of their PIN. Each PIN will permit only one (1) participation in the Online Game. Participants will not be permitted to claim a prize if they are not in possession of a Ticket bearing the PIN used to participate in the Online Game. All registrations become the property of Canada Safeway Limited (the “Company”). The prizes available to be won in the Online Game are as follows:

GRAND PRIZE DRAW
In addition to the prizes outlined above, one (1) random draw will take place on February 17, 2011 for a Las Vegas Trip Prize (described above). To enter the Grand Prize Draw, participants can complete the entry appearing on the reverse of each Ticket by filling in their name, city/province and telephone number and depositing in the Contest Ballot Box located at Customer Service no later than the end of business on the End Date. (Grand Prize Draw mechanics: Promotivate LP will select one (1) participating Safeway store at random, collect all Tickets submitted at the selected Safeway store and conduct a random draw of the entries received. Not responsible for lost or misdirected entries). There are 214 participating Safeway stores. Odds of winning the Grand Prize Draw Las Vegas Trip Prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received. The selected entrants will be notified by telephone that he/she is a potential winner.
5. Promotivate, at its option, may substitute any prize for a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes are non-transferable, except with the permission of Promotivate, and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions (cash or otherwise).
6. Winners of FREE grocery product will receive their prize by presenting their winning Ticket, along with the grocery product indicated on their Ticket, to the checkstand cashier on their next visit to Safeway prior to the end of business on the End Date (Limit one product per Ticket. Customer must pay deposit and/or enviro levy where applicable). Maximum number of FREE grocery product any customer can win in the Contest is ten (10). Potential winners of Online Game prizes and the Grand Prize Draw will be contacted by telephone and/or email within two (2) business days of qualifying as a potential winner (Online Game) or following the draw date outlined in Rule 4 (Grand Prize Draw), must be eligible in accordance with these Rules and must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and sign a liability/publicity release. If Promotivate, after three (3) attempts via telephone or email is unable to contact a potential winner, the prize will be forfeited (forfeited prizes may not be awarded). In order to win all other prizes, customers must first bring the potential winning Ticket(s) to their local Safeway store Customer Service Desk prior to the End Date, correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and sign a standard liability/publicity release. Roots® Card Set Prize winners will receive their prize upon presentation of Ticket, and completion of the above skill-test and liability/publicity release form. Redemption for all other prizes will operate as follows: Tickets will be forwarded to the Prize Administration Office along with signed publicity/liability release for official verification after the End Date. All submitted Tickets become the property of Promotivate and none will be returned. Following verification of Ticket(s), skill-testing question and signed release, Contest Prizes will be awarded to confirmed winners. Every confirmed winner will receive his/her prize within eight (8) weeks after verification. The Las Vegas Trip Prize winners will be contacted by telephone to confirm prize and make travel arrangements. Tickets that are not redeemed for prizes prior to the End Date will result in prizes not being awarded. Tickets that are not original, have been tampered with, mutilated, altered, defaced, improperly printed, illegible, forged, irregular in any way, obtained through a previous Safeway promotion (including previous Safeway Texas Hold’em contests) or obtained through unauthorized sources, or do not otherwise meet Contest requirements are null and void.
7. No correspondence will be entered into except with winners and potential winners. Promotivate is the sole judge on all matters relating to this Contest and its decisions shall be final and binding. By participating in the Contest and/or accepting a Safeway Texas Hold’em prize, winners agree to the use of their name, city of residence, and/or photograph and/or video image for marketing and/or promotional purposes, without compensation. Potential winner names may appear on television, in print or on the web.
8. Employees of the Company, Promotivate, their agents, and/or members of their immediate families residing in the same household are not eligible to participate in the Contest or win prizes.
9. In the event that the number of Tickets entitled to win prizes, or the number of prizes awarded via the Online Game is higher than the number of prizes outlined above, due to an error or to a mechanical, electronic or other defect resulting from printing, computer/online programming or from another process required to produce or distribute the Tickets or Online Game, the Company and Promotivate reserve the right to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, without prior notification. Upon discovery of such an error or defect, Tickets will cease to be handed out and all those previously distributed will be considered null and void. In addition, the Online Game will be withdrawn and any and all prizes previously awarded will be deemed to be null and void. In such a case, the Contest Prizes outlined in Rule 4 may not be awarded.
10. The Company, Promotivate and participating product and prize sponsors, their respective affiliates, agents, officers, directors and employees shall not be responsible for any event that may force the Contest to cease either temporarily or permanently. Nor shall they be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to the trips or prizes awarded in this contest. The Company and Promotivate reserve the right to modify or withdraw this Contest at any time without prior notification. By participating, participants agree that the Company and Promotivate will not be responsible for any event that may cause the Contest to cease operations either temporarily or permanently, including but not limited to any printing problem, electronic network, computer problem or any other technical or human error of any kind that makes continuation of the Contest not feasible. The Company, Promotivate and other releasees are not responsible for damage to a user’s system occasioned by participation in this Contest, nor are they responsible for any problems that may arise including but not limited to technical malfunctions of telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or access providers, computer equipment, software, viruses, bugs or failure of any email to be received for any reason including but not limited to traffic congestion on the internet or any website or combination thereof. Not responsible for lost or misdirected entries/ballots, or for ballots not properly collected and/or forwarded by Safeway stores in time for draw.
11. By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Contest Rules & Regulations.
