There are wonderful threads in the forums about who to contact for coupons and such like that. The only piece of information that they are missing is the most important, IMO...the contact information part. So, I am working on a list, checking it twice and here we go....contact information for companies.

Please note this list is not a complete list (various brands are missing) but if you know the main brand then you should be able to find your company. I will gradually add to the list as I contact the companies. I can only spend a certain amount of time doing this a day so here we go (tonight I will alphabetize the list!)....

EXAMPLE LETTERS

Please following these simples rules when communicating with customer service.

1. Keep it professional. If you had an issue with their product it isn't the rep's fault! The rep is only there to help you and the company. Be nice.

2. Always thank them for any help they are able to provide. Even that means you thank them for telling you that you can only find their coupons in store on in newspapers. Again, it's not the rep's fault.

3. Be truthful. If you have never tried the product before, tell them that. They might be able to win you over.

4. Do NOT copy any of my example letters verbatim. I have actually used these letters before and it will sound kind of funny if everyone who contacts them says the same exact thing.

5. If you can't send them a sample of whatever is wrong, tell them so and why. Don't tell them you will send it if you won't. I had an issue with Pampers diapers once and told the rep I would TRY to save her two but I could't guarantee as it depended on when I could get more diapers. I ended up only sending one, but what can you do?

6. If they give you a reference number, call them back after you use the replacement coupon or whatever it is, to tell them how it went. Especially do this if you have never tried the product before. Even if you don't have a reference number, call them back and let them know that you enjoyed the product. If you were the marketing team, you would want to know, right?

Example letter 1:

My husband has been complaining that his lunches have become borning. I am hoping that you might be able to help me with this issue. We have never tried XXXXXX before but I am willing to give you a try. However, I do not like to pay full price for something that my family (or myself) is going to just take a few bites out of and trash. I was hoping that your company might have a coupon program and that you might be able to send me some coupons so we can try your product. Hopefully you can win us over and make us loyal and happy consumers!
Thank you very much for your assistance.


Example letter 2:

I have recently introduced my children to XXXXX. I must say that I was very impressed with your product when they not only told me that they liked it but that they wanted to have it for dinner that night too! I love providing healthier food to my children and your products help me do that. If your company rewards its loyal consumers with coupons, I would love to be included amoung them. Please add me to any mailing list that might send me such things. Thank you very much for such a nice product that my children and myself enjoy.

Example 3:

I am very interested in trying your product as I have heard wonderful things about it. If you could send me some coupons to help me try it out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Here's one I did before ...Unilever and here is the contact link http://www.unilever.ca/resource/contact/index.aspx They make Suave, Dove, Lipton, Vaseline, Ben&Jerrys, Popsicle brand, Knorr, Slim Fast, and so many others!

They sent me a FPC coupon for 1 item up to $10 bucks because I complimented them on their ice cream LOL. I LOVEEEEEEEE Ben&Jerrys!

When contacting these companies. What excactly do you say? How do you word it? Ive tried a few places before and I must be doing something worng as I havent been successful yet

It depends on the company and if I have experience with the brand or not. Time for me to go to bed, but tomorrow I will post some 'examples' for you. I used to work in a corporate legal department and had to write the responding letters all the time, especially when products went bad. I have done some pretty good letters. See the thread tomorrow.
