Thread: Send your USED stamps to charity
-
Sun, Feb 27th, 2011, 04:09 PM #1
The Leprosy mission is looking to collect USED stamps that they sell in bulk to collectors. I figure we go through tons of them here so it would be helpful to send them to them. All the money they make from the stamps helps to provide medicine to someone who has Leprosy.

Include your name or group so they can send you a thank you letter.

Doesn't the post office put that "stamp" over them? Would they still be accepted even though this is done?
Most every letter I receive has a stamp over the top right hand corner showing its been through their process.Matt

Yes, as far as I know they accept the used stamps as is. I have sent them all of my used stamps and have always gotten a thank you letter back with them saying how much money they have earned by selling the stamps and how many people they have been able to help because of it.

Thank you for posting. Our church saves stamps for the same charity so I always have a baggie in the drawer to save them.

It is still showing on the web site, I can try and call them this afternoon to verify.

If on the remote chance the Leprosy Mission does not still collect stamps for their charity, there are many other charities that do.
