Baby calves, just weeks old, are kicked, punched, slapped and yelled at by barn employees. Some are grabbed by the testicles to force them into narrow wooden stalls. Several lie gasping for air on slats stained with urine and feces.

These are among the disturbing images revealed in undercover video footage shot by Mercy for Animals Canada, an anti-cruelty animal activist group, at a milk-fed-veal complex in Pont Rouge, outside Quebec City. It was obtained by CTV’s W5 as part of its investigative report on the Quebec veal industry.

At the Pont-Rouge barn, about 800 calves are subjected to harsh treatment and inhumane confinement for the entire 18 to 20 weeks of their short lives, the undercover investigation reveals. They are housed in crates so narrow they can’t turn around or lie down comfortably. Many are tethered by chains around their necks.

The crates, most of which are no more than 49 centimetres wide, are designed to prohibit exercise and normal muscle growth in order to produce tender veal. The calves are fed a milk-substitute diet deliberately low in iron so their flesh will stay pale.The calves don’t go outside to play, breathe fresh air, clean themselves or bond with their mothers. They never see sunlight, the Mercy for Animals investigator says. Most of their time in the barn is spent in the dark.

The band have announced new dates in Europe, with their live performances now due to resume on May 26 at Norway’s Telenor Arena in Oslo.
The just announced dates are part of the group’s “14 On Fire” tour which will also see a night each in Portugal, Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Sweden, finishing in Denmark on July 3rd.
According to a news release posted on April 3 at Rolling Stones.com, the legendary British rockers have confirmed that the seven postponed 14 On Fire Tour dates, originally booked from March 19 – April 5 will now take place between Oct. 15 – Nov. 22nd.
The cost of the postponed dates in Australia and New Zealand dates is estimated at 10 million dollars due to staging costs.

The Octogenarian Tour is already a go, it's in the planning stages,
It just will go to show you the rock & roll is not bound by chronological ages,
Instead of Steel Wheels it can be the Steel Scooters & Dentures,
Mick can even write new songs that won't be nixed by the censors,
They just need to stand Keith up & place his axe in his hand,
Light his smoke & tell him to just play as everything's cool with his band,
Mick can prance a little bit & maybe even do those signature moves with his tushie!
Business as usual for Charlie as his job on the drums is quite cushy,
Ronnie can just show up with his hair spiked & designed to perfection,
From the very first riff, the band will be spot on with connection,
It won't be a Beggar's Banquet or a venue with the Stickiest Fingers,

I was at the store at 10:00 am this morning and what a zoo!!! It was crazy!!! I have to give them credit though.... every single cash register was open....

happy caturday Q sters,
what a beautiful day out. got up to the dealership to pick up the car they are letting me drive while they get my SF done. it's a Sonic. interesting little car. it's bigger than a smart car, only because it has back seats, but it was tough trying to get 6 bags of groceries, 2 cases of water & 4 cases of pop. couldn't see a family of 4, with their luggage on a road trip, but it would be good for a family of 2 or less. a good in town car. so use to backing the boat or van into a parking space, that when i parked this car, there was still 5' of room to the back of the space. LOL.
hope everyone enjoyed their caturday & were able to get out in the sunshine.
