The volcano was active, & we were allow up, but now I think it's off limits to tourists.

An interesting fact: there are more species of fauna & flora in that one small country, than all the rest of North & South America combined. The canopy walk was awesome, as were so many of the adventures.

Another interesting tidbit; the top half of the rivers are fresh water, flowing from the mountains, and the bottom half are salt water. So, fresh water fish, crocs, caiman, etc. on top; salt water on bottom; shark, piranha, and so on. Consider yourself warned.

I'd definitely go again, & so should you, but make sure you do all the 'touristy' things.

Thanks so much Hicks and Jester!! Now I'm looking forward to January / February... Did I just say that???

Our good friend has a niece that lives near Jaco, so we're planning on going to that area, but I imagine that we'll be touring around. Our friend's daughter just graduated from university and is spending the summer there surfing.... rough life...

I hope everyone has a great day!!

still waiting to hear "runnin down a dream"

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are hitting the road again! The first stop on the tour is in San Diego and we want to send you and a friend to this epic opening night.

    Good Morning
Alohamom -I have been to the PF Changs in Don Mills and one in Manhattan Beach and enjoyed them both. The one in Don Mills is in a nice little outdoor shopping area.

Ecatt – if Jester was close and in the right direction with Ireland but not too close, I would think London too close how about Paris?

    Good morning, everyone.

Off to the eye dr this afternoon to find out when I need another surgery (dealing with a cataract from the meds I'm on for the transplant, hoping I can postpone surgery for several months to give my body a break - 3 rounds of anaesthetic in less than a year is a bit too much, even for a seasoned pincushion like me ).

Then I'll be off to the wilds of Scarborough for some home cooking, as well as a visit with some friends. Not to mention a fun BBQ. Brats can't come to the party - they failed to keep the racoons at bay (the little heathens came within a few feet of Lily & stole our food & drank our wine!).

Not sure if I'm off today or tomorrow, we'll see. We should be back Monday, hopefully I won't be subjected to any more rounds of naked yoga on the balcony from one of the new neighbours across the way (picture the blinds commercial, only with less clothing ).

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Kids...
    > Ever notice how a 4-year-old's voice is louder than 200 adult voices?
    > Several years ago, I returned home from a trip just when a storm hit,
    > with crashing thunder and severe lightning.
    > As I came into my bedroom about 2 a.m., I found my two children In bed
    > with my wife, Karey, apparently scared by the loud storm.
    > I resigned myself to sleep in the guest bedroom that night.
    > The next day, I talked to the children and explained
    > that it was O.K. to sleep with Mom when the storm was bad,
    > but when I was expected home, please don't sleep with Mom that night.
    > They said OK.
    > After my next trip several weeks later, Karey and the children
    > picked me up in the terminal at the appointed time.
    > Since the plane was late, everyone had come into the terminal
    > to wait for my plane's arrival, along with hundreds of other folks
    > waiting for their arriving passengers.
    > As I entered the waiting area, my son saw me, and came running shouting,
    > "Hi, Dad! I've got some good news!"
    > As I waved back, I said loudly, "What's the good news?"
    > Alex shouted, "Nobody slept with Mommy while you were away this time!"
    > The airport became very quiet, as everyone in the waiting area looked at Alex,
    > then turned to me, and then searched the rest of
    > the area to see if they could figure out exactly who his Mom was.
    > ---------------------------------------------------------------
    > An acquaintance of mine who is a physician told this story about her then 4-year-old daughter.
    > On the way to preschool, the doctor had left her stethoscope on the car seat,
    > and her little girl picked it up and began playing with it.
    > "Be still, my heart," thought my friend, "my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps!"
    > Then the child spoke into the instrument: "Welcome to McDonald's. May I take your order?"
