Had some tornado (Not Sharknado) warnings yesterday but nothing materialized...calling for strong (As opposed to weak ) thunderstorms tonight...

Yes, around 10:30-11:00 last night I was driving on the 401 between Bowmanville and Oshawa and we were caught in a big thunderstorm with high winds and lots of rain. It was treacherous to drive in, but we made it through to the other side be driving slowly.

My seven year anniversary of being a so called Smart Canuckette,
Sometimes I wonder what I am doing, but I haven’t figured that out yet,
I chatter, I natter & I sometimes post pics,
I prattle, seen battle & talked about flicks,
Sometimes I say just what’s on my mind,
Even wrote prose about things that are lined,
Upon reflecting about things I’ve learned here,
It is a place where so many have come to endear,
We’ve had our differences & an occasional kerfuffle,
& times when we should have opted to muffle,
We’ve had many join us & blend nicely into our little fold,
We’ve have folks who were banned for being too bold,
We’ve had loss; we’ve had triumphs & some very lucky winners,
We’ve given tips & welcomed many Smart Canuck beginners,
Some of our one time greats we all miss dearly,
& that is a statement that I make more sincerely,
Your resident poet sometimes thinks about retiring,
But I keep coming back, cause you’re all so inspiring,
I certainly didn’t intend to post daily at such a feverish pitch,
& being a Smart Canuck has certainly not made me rich,
Thanks to you all for always knowing the right things to say,
As sometimes we all need a boost to brighten our day,
Although our “Q” thread may seen some changes,
We can still come here for our pleasant exchanges.
I think I have likely said so much more than enough,
Now off you all go & strut your delightful stuff....

Good morning, everyone.

Yesterday, we had quite the light show. Poor Lily dog just couldn't seem to jump up onto her bench, so I had to help her (going to have to figure out some stairs for her - trying to lift 50lbs of whiny pup knocked me out for the rest of the evening). She managed to jump off without needing help, so not sure what was going on. And today she's fine (I'm wondering if I accidentally did some sort of chiropractic adjustment when I tried to pick her up).

Around 4am, there was an explosion. A can of peas exploded in the cupboard (guess what I spent all morning doing, although I did have 2 assistants). Quincy cat took that as his cue to ring the breakfast bell. And Lily dog decided that since everyone is up, it must be morning and time to go for a walk and spy on the neighbours. Even if it was still dark. Good thing that it was still raining lightly, or she would have insisted we go sit on the bench and wait.

Better go make lunch, before someone insists I get replaced by more competent help.
