Jimmy Page To Tour In 2016


Jimmy Page has had enough Zeppelin for one decade and now he’s assembling a new live band that’s ‘totally different’ from Led Zeppelin. He’s getting his chops back to tour and has been ‘warming up on the touchlines’ to head out on the road.
According to Guitarworld.com, “There will be all sorts of material from different eras,” Page said. “Right across the board; that’s the way I’m seeing it. But like I said, there will be surprises. It won’t be entirely what people might be expecting.”
Despite the occasional one-off appearance, like last month’s performance of “Rock and Roll” with Paul Rodgers and Duff McKagan (and with Foo Fighters a few years ago), Page has been absent from the touring scene. He attributes this to his tiring work reissuing the Led Zeppelin catalog.
“It was a question of having time,” he said. “The only way to have time is to shut down and then do what you want to do. I’ve been doing so much Led Zeppelin stuff over quite a number of years now; so it’s not been so easy to think about anything else in the tail end of this year. But OK, next year, bang!”

Uber Takes On The TTC

Days after a taxi protest shutdown the downtown core, the ride-share Uber is launching another service, which is sure to anger taxi drivers even further.
UberHop allows commuters travelling to and from the Financial District during peak times to share a ride with others headed the same way. The larger vehicles mean up to five passengers will be driven at a time.
Those wanting to use the service will need to update their Uber app. Once that has been done, tap the UberHop option to request the closest route, walk to the pickup location, and arrive on time or else you’ll miss your ride.
The cost? $5 flat fare.
