Do you let your coupon flyers pile-up because you just can’t find the time to clip and organize them? Here are some suggestions for when to clip:

While you watch TV or listen to your favourite music or podcast
This is multi-tasking at its best! Take in the nightly news headlines, hear the best of your favourite show- How I met your mother, and really clip away during the commercials…You’ll easily get your coupons clipped and stored away by the end of a one-hour show. Just limit this multi-tasking to once a week and you’re golden. Enjoy the rest of your week and feel the satisfaction of having committed a little time to saving yourself money!

During your commute or long trip (as long as you’re not the driver!)
Take the bus? Rail? Carpool? On a plane? Boat? If you’re sitting at least 30 minutes and not driving, make the most of your time! Clip coupons, put them in a large envelope, and organize them when you get home. And be kind to the planet: stash away the left-over paper and recycle it when you can.

On the phone
This one may just be for the womenfolk! Gab and clip away. Make it easy on yourself: use a headset or speakerphone.

While the kids play
If you have kids, cutting coupons during playtime (especially outdoors) can be a real winner. Take a seat at the window or park yourself outside to keep an eye on them.

Refuse to spend more than 10 minutes clipping? Try the “full sheet” method. Pile all your coupons into a large box. (Find large sheets from save.ca, websaver.ca, or coupon inserts in flyers). Organize them by expiry date or type of coupon (e.g., save.ca, printable coupons, inserts, etc.). Cut the coupons you KNOW you’ll use and leave the others in the box. Later, clip what you need, if you need them. (Remember to recycle all that paper.)
