We all know coupons will save you money. If you consistently dedicate a little time toward couponing, you’ll save tons of money. Take just one hour each week to seek, clip, and organize coupons, and you’ll save thousands of dollars per year!

Coupons let you try new products on the cheap
What’s worse than purchasing a dud or crap product? Purchasing a dud at full price! If you’re interested in venturing outside the “tried and true” do so with a coupon and you’ll feel a lot better if it doesn’t become a new favourite. Even better: use a coupon on a new product that’s also on sale. Double Bonus!

Want to try a product but never see any coupons for it? Contact the manufacturer directly. Tell them you would love to try their product except that the store prices are outside your budget right now. Ask if they’ll offer you any coupons. Much of the time, they will! Don’t get discouraged if they don’t; instead, email them later and ask again. You may get a more willing company representative next time. It's always worth the shot.

Coupons do not have to be more effort than they’re worth
Just dedicate a block of time each week and don’t exceed it. If you can (and you buy enough to warrant the time spent), take a few hours each week researching deals, ordering, printing, and cutting coupons. Since most coupons are for food, spend no more than one hour per week planning weekly meals according to the coupons you have and writing your shopping list. Spending four hours each week dealing with coupons is typical, but you don’t even have to take that much time to save big throughout the year.

To save up to 50% on your monthly grocery bill, you just need one to two hours each week (including shop time) dedicated to coupons of course this may vary. And you can multi-task with coupons: sit in front of the TV, listen to your favourite music or podcast. Get the coupons while you hear the latest headlines or relax with your entertainment of choice.

    Coupons: not just for groceries
Coupons are for more than food and household purchases. You can find many coupons for fashion, various services, restaurants, and more. Before you head out to make your next purchases, check online for coupons. If you shop online, enter “ promo codes” or “discount codes” in your search engine to check if there are any discounts available on those purchases. You’ll see that often, there are! Check out the Sc blog, they have tons of discounts to share

The best way to save on groceries is to build a pantry, meaning you stockpile when food is on sale. Sales come in cycles so start keeping a price book and you'll eventually get the hang to predict when particular items come on sale. When the sale happens, buy enough to keep you until the next sale.
