4L bags were 7.09 there today and 6.36 at Sobeys!!??? I have been informed by someone in the milk business that Walmart is the most expensive place to buy milk and that Giant Tiger is the least expensive.

Not sure I've never purchased milk there. However I have found Victory and Peters Meat Market to be cheaper than Sobeys/Superstore. Victory only has Baxters I believe.

GT only sells Baxters...
I get my milk @ Shoppers - I buy it in 2L Cartons (Baxters) - you get 5x the points all the time!!

I also get my milk at SDM - love the 5x points, especially when you need to buy milk on the same day as a 20x event!
So, figure that 2L cartons sell for $3.12 at SDM (this has been the consistent price for quite some time now), you'd be paying $6.24 for 4L plus the added bonus points
Please note that I don't think the SDM prices apply to the chocolate milk.

Are you guys saying that it is cheaper to buy the 2L cartons at SDM when you take into account the 2x points??

At SDM - 2L is $3.12 (only for the Baxter's brand) even without factoring in the 5x bonus points, that's one of the cheapest places I have seen milk for pricing in Fredericton.

Just went to check a Coop receipt for milk. They sell the 4L at $5.99. I always thought this was cheaper than buying milk at SDM but I guess if you buy 2 x 2L and get the 5x points you get the following: $6.24 = 360 points which is $0.75 on bonus redemption days; so $6.24 minus $0.75 = $5.49 for 4L. The deal is even better for me since I use a SDM Optimum Mastercard when I shop at SDM.
And I did not like the bags to start with anyway! LOL!

This weekend there is supposed to be get 18,500 Optimum points WUB $75. I know in the past that I could never buy milk to get to the $75 or $50 (depending on the promotion). Does anyone know if I could get the 2L milk cartons to get to the $75 mark since they are now giving points on these?

I know this used to be their policy not allowing to buy milk products for promotional events, but I was sure they changed that some time ago. It would probably be best to contact the SDM you are planning to shop at and ask the manager ahead of time just so you know, as SDMs are independently owned anyways so they may have their own store policies.

I received my points when I purchased milk at Shoppers the last time. It should automatically do this on the register anyway. I think it is lotto, giftcards etc which are not included.

I always get milk during Bonus Points events... actually, I buy extra milk for my office during bonus points (to help increase my total - as I get reimbursed for it!)

I have always found Walmart to be more expensive, I usually buy mine at Sobeys. Anyone know what GT sells for?
