Asked in Safeway today and they gave me a 100/$100 coupon good for July 16-19.
Coupon says gift cards are excluded but we'll see.

However, I recall last Christmas season they had lots of bonus AMs on gift cards.
As a home business operator I know I'll load up on cards for business getting the tax credits + the AirMiles.
EG.
As I travel sometimes I eat lunch at restaurants during business. Buying Cara Restaurant cards with bonus AMs maximizes my return.

OK, so here's a great current Name Brand deal:
Safeway has a Buy 5 Get 50 AMs special on Christie crackers right now.
Part of the offer is Ritz Crackers 2 for $5
5 would equal $12.50
Now, if you have the "We Care" booklets and spend just $20 total you'll knock the cost of the Ritz down by 10% to $11.25
$11.25 gets 50 AMs = $7.00
So the cost of 5 boxes is effectively $4.25 or $0.81 each.
It gets better:
Thanks to reading another forum I learned some boxes have a free coupon inside for Cracker Barrel cheese (170-250 gms). I picked up some.
$0.81 plus free cheese.
Better yet CB cheese is often an AirMiles special as well. If the coupons last I'll be waiting to get free cheese with bonus AirMiles.

Well, 50 Airmiles (approx. $7 value) on 2 bulk weiners is probably a pretty good offer:

Received an e-mail from Safeway this morning confirming I'd "unsubscribed".
Didn't do that.
Wonder if it was because I posted the picture here?
Possibly just an error.
Anyone else get similar?

Was in Safeway today.
They were out of the Butcher's Cut Weiners.
They had their Red Tag no name weiners on, same weight, for $2 less. Buying 2 would be $4 cheaper.
So which is the better deal?
If you value an AirMile at $0.14 and get the 50 AM bonus by buying the Butcher's Cut then you get an equivalent value of $7.00 so you're $3 ahead with the offer.

July 27 to August 2 Flyer was out in our local paper yesterday.
Doing a quick comparison:
Safeway has a Buy 2 (30 Roll Purex Bathroom Tissue) Get 50 AM special on.
How does that look?
SDM has Royale 24 roll @ $6.49
Assuming rolls for both are the same size (and I don't know that) then the samw size for Royale would cost $8.11 at SDM. So already Safeway beats.
So 2 Purex = $15.99 (ignoring tax) but you get 50 AMs with approx. value = $7. (SDM has a 20Xs points special on but I'm sure it wouldn't equal $7 on toilet paper).
If you have the "We Care" coupons and purchase exactly $20 worth of goods you knock off 10% taking it down to $14.40
Are there $1 coupons for purex? If so you're down to $12.40 and get $7 worth of AirMiles.

Will you buy $20 worth of groceries and/or $20 of meat at Safeway this week?
Every February Safeway sells a "We Care" coupon book for $3 that lasts until the end of August.
As it's money for Charity I'm reluctant to put the codes up but as there is only a couple of days left this month I'm going to post them to encourage people to buy the booklet next year.
You do not have to have the coupon in the booklet. Just give these codes to the cashier and she'll key them in.
$20 in groceries (can include meat):
PLU 10789
$20 in meat:
PLU 18087
Punching in these codes will save you $2 each.
Codes are good only until July 31.

The flyer for August 3 - 9 is out.
Tuesday is also 10% off Customer appreciation day if you spend at least $35.
There are a couple of decent name brand offers this week.
Pantene Hair Products: Buy 3 Get 30 AirMiles
Some of you might have the $2.50 off coupons on 2 Pantene. Buy 6 = $23.94
3 x $2.50 Coupons knocks it down to 16.44
As part of 10% Customer Appreciation = $14.80
60 AMs = approx. $8.40
6 Pantene is effectively $14.80 - $8.40 = $6.40 or $1.07 each.
Coke Products Buy 3 Get 15 AM or Buy 6 Get 40 AMs
2 Litre Coke: 3 for $5
Note: Coke is often 3 for $4 or $1.33 each. This is an example of Safeway boosting the price on an AM special. But how does it play out?
Buy 6 for $10
On Customer Appreciation 6 for $9 get 40 AMs (approx. $5.60)
$9.00 - $5.60 = $3.40/6 = $0.67 each effectively.
Dasani Water and Powerade are 4 for $5
Buy 6 = $7.50
Customer Appreciation day = $6.75 and get 40 AMs (approx. $5.60)
$6.75 - $5.60 = $1.15/6 = $0.20 each effectively
Taxes and bottle deposits not included.

Potential Good One:
On the coupon forum I mentioned Safeway has a $2 Muscular Dystrophy coupon book good for about 2 months similar to the We Care books (only one $2 off on $20 groceries but many $2 off on $20 meat).
It also has a "Buy 2 Get 30 AMs" on 2 Duracell multi-pack Coppertop batteries that is eligible this coming week.
The flyer also has "Buy 2 Get 40 AMs" on the same item.
When rung in at the cashier the 40 AMs are credited automatically. The coupon has to have a PLU code entered manually.
It looks like it's possible you could get 70 AMs total on this item (approx. $9.80).
Bought this Tuesday (10% off on $35 Total purchase) effectively that's about $3.70 for 2 packs.

Flyer for August 17 to 23 is out in our community paper.
Possible good AirMile offers:
Toilet Paper:
Safeway usually boosts the price on 24single/12double roll offers to $9.99-$10.99 B2G50 Airmiles on toilet paper.
Last week they had a B2G50 @ $6.99 each.
This week they've got a B2G50 Select 24/12 at $5.49 each (Note: SDM has Royale @ $5.99 this week, however, I can't say if you get the same amount)
Not counting tax buying 2 = $10.98
Approx. value of AMs = $7.00
Effectively 2 for $4.98 or $2.48 each
Further this is one you could use very well if you donate to a food bank that gives a tax receipt when you surrender the purchase receipt.
Buying 10 offers (20 units) = 10 x $10.98 = $109.80 + $13.76 tax (where I live) = $123.56
Value of 500 AirMiles = $70 approx. (Note: With various bonus coupons you might be able to boost this another 25 to 125 AMs).
If you're in a tax bracket that gets you 50% back on charitable donations then $123.56/2 = $61.78
$61.78 (refund) + $70 (AMs) = $131.78 (With the bonuses you could add another $1.75 to $17.50 to that amount).
So if you donate to food banks anyway spending $123.56 earned you $131.78 elsewhere and you benefitted yourself & the charity.
Smucker's Bick's Pickles:
2 for $5 B5G40 AMs
5 = $12.50
40 AMs = approx. $5.60
Effectively $6.90 or $1.38 each
BIGGIE!!!!!! ALERT:
Did you collect the free cheese coupons off the Dare crackers that came with Air Miles.
This week Kraft Products are B5G40 AMs
The flyer doesn't specifically show the 2 Kraft offers for those coupons but the Black Diamond equivalents do show. Often the flyer doesn't show everything so they could well be included.
I have 4 coupons and know the packages are still out there so I'll be looking for an extra.
40 AMs = approx. $5.60

OK, I'm really peeved at Safeway this week because they "unsubscribed" me from the email.direct and can't seem to correct it. They've even phoned and left a message saying I'd be back on Aug. 24th and receive this coming week's offers. This has not happened and Osker hasn't been around to post the link. If any of you have it I'd appreciate the link if possible.
There are tons of AirMile Specials this week but as always with Safeway you have to watch if they've boosted the price. However, it seems many brand names with bonus AMs are on sale. Here's just a few:
Dove 2 x 120g Reg $4.79 Sale $3.99 (Note: If you have the Muscular Dystrophy coupon book there's a B2G20AM worth approx. $2.80 in it.
Piazza Pizza 900g Reg. 6.98 Buy 2 for $10 Get 25 AMs = approx. $3.50
Coast to Coast Hoagies (6) Reg $3.59 (I don't believe it! BTW) Sale: $1.79 B2G15AMs = $2.10
Melba Toast: 400g ($4.99/$4.49) or 150g ($3.19/$2.79) B2G15AMs = $2.10
Dare Econo Cookies 300-350g $2.47/$2.00 B3G20AMs = $2.80
Frozen Foods Buy 5 Get 50 AMs (approx. $7.00):
You can mix and match these for 5 items
Green Giant Vegetables $3.99/$2.67
Michelina's Entrees $2.64/$2.00
Kellogg's Waffles $3.50/$2.00
