Darth, I don't know if you know the poster I'm referring to. She was the one who loved to boast about getting one over the cashier. Or they were "dumb" because they were trying to do their job.
She wasn't lining up at midnight for electronics but to be there to get what she wanted. Gillette and Olay products were big. Despite not using them herself but they made her brags look good.

I really think that people who do unethical couponing - cheating do not care. We can be silent or we can complain the bottom line is that they do not care what we think.
As far as clearing shelves for overages - that is touchy but I don't think it is black and white "wrong". Once again people who do this do not care. I do not clear shelves or make mega overages not because I'm ethical but because I do not have the need or the "balls" to do it. If for instance my favorite brand of makeup is on sale in my shade-which is hard to find is on a super sale an the expiration dates are long...I won't lie I probably will clear the shelves. On the other hand I would never take a whole tear pad or take peelies off of things I am not buying.
Lining up at midnight to get something why not?
Anyway its great to share opinions, that is a big part of what this forum is for but other than plain coupon fraud all other things are up to the individual couponer.
As far as labeling someone as selfish. The thing is there are selfish people out there and if someone is selfish they do not care what others think.Last edited by frugalkitty; Fri, Oct 14th, 2011 at 11:49 AM.

Thats a whole different thing though.. thats someone trying to rip off the store.. I can see why people think its wrong to steal, or knowingly use coupons incorrectly, try to sneak things past cashiers..
That I get.. I don't understand the mindset that its immoral to stand in line at midnight to get what you wish to buy.. I guess the whole shelf clearing thing being immoral is foreign to me as well.. When I sold on eBay I had 4 local stores that called me when they were clearing out inventory, well 2 in town and 2 at teh outlet mall... they would sell me the items for 50% lower than everyone else and I would buy 3 or 4 racks of clothes .. they would have 3 girls helping..I would pull what I wanted, leave my CC, come home and when they had it all rung in, they'd call me back and sign the slips. (I learned that after a couple of times having the cash register freeze) they'd even put it in the car for me.Last edited by MillieH; Tue, Oct 18th, 2011 at 06:34 AM.

I think most, if not all of us agree that. Though I have seen posts where the odd poster has bragged about price matching a mis-print even though the store has a sign up about it.
I never meant to imply queueing at midnight was immoral, just outside my comfort zone. Especially on cold nights.....brrr.That I get.. I don't understand the mindset that its immoral to stand in line at midnight to get what you wish to buy..
It crosses the line when it inconivences other shoppers. Since it removes a chance for them to get something they also need or want. This is of course IMHO.I guess the whole shelf clearing thing being immoral is foreign to me as well..
That is totally differnt from deliberately clearing shelves since you were offered the goods and other shoppers had already had the ability to buy them and had refused. What about individuals who are known to post obscene brags here, complaining about someone selling on eBay or Kijiji? Oh, but they are donating the stuff, right?
And the people who are requesting the Snuggle coupon without the 20-count restrictions...they are told that one isn't available anymore, and on the very next post, someone provides a link to it....someone corrects it yet again, and then another poster asks: oh, can I have that link too? Arg.

i think we should all remember that when you're a newbie in the
couponing game, you may start off doing things that you don't know
are wrong while trying to grow your stock pile. Then once you've hit
about three months in and you've seen all the brags and deals you do
realize what you need and don't. You have learned to read the coupons
carefully because you don't want hassles from the cashiers. I realize that
there may be tearpads right now that are empty but in a few months time
they'll have some left. Note to tearpad emptier at Metro in Cambridge, it's been
over three months. please leave some coupons for
the rest of us

I really wish people wouldn't comment on the brags, such as the one you are referring to, with WTGs. Coupon abusers might get the hint if no one responded to the brags.

I agree Jody, but I also wish we were able to *politely* let people, the TC and any people reading the thread, that it is coupon misuse, what the issues are with shelf clearing etc. whatever the case may be.
Money see, monkey do. You don't show the correct method in the first place, and the thousand or so lurkers there are at any given time are really going to get on the wrong path and start doing things that ruin everything for the rest of us because they were never taught the RIGHT way.
Nobody needs to be rude, ever, but life isn't all rainbows and bunnies. If something is wrong somebody really does need to say something or we're just breeding a new generation of incorrectly-taught couponers.

Frankly, I see that particular brag unleashing "Aspirin-gate" part 2... really not cool.

I sucked it up and commented. A long one too. I hope I don't get banned, as I was trying to educate, not attack, but if I do... well I guess goodbye to you all, it's been a hoot and a half
