Look up katherinealbrecht.com if you don't believe me, will you beleive a phd from Harvard? So I had a thread a while back on companies collecting your info on everything you type into your computer. Well there were quite a few who openly mocked me on this forum. Well being uneducated is a choice too. But for those who like to be on top of it all. I thought you may be interested.
Your privacy is under attack! Change your search engine to startpage. Read about it.
Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data is recorded. Major search engines capture your IP address and use tracking cookies to make a record of your search terms, the time of your visit, and the links you choose - then they store that information in a giant database.
Those searches reveal a shocking amount of personal information about you, such as your interests, family circumstances, political leanings, medical conditions, and more. This information is modern-day gold for marketers, government officials, hackers and criminals - all of whom would love to get their hands on your private search data.
Why should you worry?
Major search engines have quietly amassed the largest database of personal information on individuals ever collected. Unfortunately, this data can all too easily fall into the wrong hands. Consider the following story:
In August 2006, the online world was jarred when AOL accidentally released three months' worth of aggregated search data from 650,000 of its users, publishing all the details in an online database.
That database is still searchable. It is an absolute eye-opener to see the potential for privacy nightmares. So I had a thread a while back on companies collecting your info on everything you type into your computer and hiding your ip address. Some accused me of being dishonest, when actually, its just being smart. Well there were quite a few who openly mocked me on this forum. Well being uneducated is a choice too. But for those who like to be on top of it all. I thought you may be interested. This is from Startpage.

Also everyone is getting a smart reader installed outside their house. There is no opt out program apparently. It is proven the technology allows them the capability to turn appliances off from where they are, know what exact program you are watching, down to knowing if you have guests over. Yuck. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by taxsavey; Mon, Nov 14th, 2011 at 06:16 PM.

I understand how they collect info through the net - but please explain the rationale how a smart meter would know if you have guests over? The only thing I would get out of that is if you have electric heat and you had a lot of people over your heat wouldn't kick on as much and they could assume you have guests.....but that wouldn't apply to anyone with gas heat.

I know right? Thats what I thought. There is a huge movement I noticed growing to get rid of it. I can't explain how the technology works, but its now not even denied that this is what it does. Look up info on smartmeter. Its horrible. You may wonder, who cares if people know what I buy or do. But if you look into the underlieing reasons for it, its scary. There is open talk of a new world order and one government which will control everything. Weather you are allowed to buy food or not......I am not giving you my opinion, just the facts. Scary stuff commin.

There's a new TV show with this sort of overtone:

As for the smartmeters, one of the problems is that it was giving inaccurate readings (overbilling folks, saying folks were using when they weren't home, etc).

katherinealbrecht.com is a harvard phd. do you must think she is paranoid rather than educated too? She said on her radio show that Nazis prevented Jews from buying bread, milk etc...... Best predictor of the future is the past. Just sayin.
