Just watched the Marketplace show (oh, how I loved it when Stompin' Tom did the song!)

Since prices have to go up in some way - whether it's the actual cost or the size shrinking of the product - I don't think it's deceptive - consumers have to read what they are buying.

There are some things that I really wish were kept in their larger sizes, and I'd deal with the bigger pricetag. These are usually items I use for cooking - I know how much it takes of a certain item/product to make a meal, etc.

For other items, it doesn't matter to me that the weight/number is smaller.

I had PC Points offer on Classico. Was all happy until I saw that they had shrunk significantly.

Diet coke in the bottle used to be 591 ml now it's 500 ml for more money! RIP OFFFFF!!! I rarely buy the bottles because they are a total waste of money but sometimes in the middle of the day I'm just SO thirsty I just cave and buy one when nothing else sounds good. Not anymore after seeing the bottle size decrease. Apparently all of the flavours are being reduced in size. What the heck?

oh today I was miffed! While at FB thought I'd top up our plain canned tuna supply ( I cannot stand the flavoured ones that we got for free, we still have a cupboard full and no one eats them ) but these cans are a mere 85 grams! That is no sale at $1.98 a can. Pass....

I totally agree with you. Many products have downsized, which makes me feel that they cheat customers.

You can always donate the cans to the food bank. That is what we do in our house, anything free that I do not want goes to the food bank!

I can't prove it, but Lundberg Rice packages seem smaller.

DH and I are not big on the flavored tuna either but if you rinse and drain a couple of times it makes a big difference.
