    Hello everyone,

I'm hosting a bridal shower and stagette in a couple months, hoping to have a "beach" theme. I am going to buy invitations tomorrow - anyone have any ideas for reasonably priced beach theme decorations or any advice? There will be approx 30 people at the party.

I'm not a super creative type! So any help would be appreciated!

I'm going to try Michaels tomorrow for invitations - with my 50% off coupon (of course) and buy my stamps at shoppers when the time comes

    Thanks in advance

if you're making the cake or cupcakes, brown sugar works well as "sand". great deal with the craft items at micheal's, have fun!

get a mug,,, lol ... it has to be a mug... and a chain and 2 locks... chain goes around her neck and gets locked and the other one around the cup handle... make sure the chain is too short to put down on any table.... laughing,,, i am not sure if this is the kind of idea your looking for but i bet you have chain and a couple locks and the mug kicking around.... poor bride is going to get so drunk.

btw never invite me to a wedding... i don`t do weddings so if i must go i find ways to entertain myself like... fill the bride and grooms car with popcorn... hey what do ya want at least it is environmental! The confetti down the vents in the car might not be environmental tho... or the making 40 trips out to the car with a glass of water in the winter and pouring it slowly so it creates a nice sheet of ice... yup... please don`t invite me!

The confetti down the vent isn`t dangerous don`t worry i thought about it... they get the popcorn out of the way and hit the defrost to melt the ice lol

for party favors now might be the perfect time of year to find flip flops on clearance, pretty ones with flowers, etc...
you could include other things too if u wanted but those are certainly beachy and not cheezy lol

I loathe showers, but I can help with a few ideas...
Candles: buy decoupage glue from Michaels with a coupon, apply to candles, roll in fine sand and place in sand for a centerpiece or to hand out as favors if that's what you do...
Beachtowels: they can be purchased pretty cheaply now...use them for tablecloths
Flip-flops..great idea..hot-glue big cheesy flowers in them, use as decorations
Cookies: Sandies, of course!..and other happy, fruity ones
BIG flowers..there are directions on the net for making them..they're really cute and you get a lot of bang for your buck
Paper products: should be able to find summery styles on good sales now in party stores...

That's it for now..hope that provides you with some inspiration...must run..good luck!
I have the best job in the world!!
    I marry people!!

    Gosh, I love showers!

    - picture of sand with a heart drawn in it, especially if it contains the bride's and groom's initials would be a nice touch.
    - Find romantic pictures depicting scenes of two footprints in the sand, hearts drawn in the sand, a couple's silhouette at sunset or a couple holding hands in the distance.
    - requesting guests come in beach attire
    - fill small glass containers with sand, seashells and a pretty candle

Fruits, particularly coconuts work well. Serve pulled pork, shrimp cocktails, crab cakes or shish kebabs with meat and pineapples for the main course. Serve fruity drinks with umbrellas.
A sandcastle cake or cupcakes, coconut pie or cookies decorated with shaved coconut work as well. Jello or cookies can be shaped like fish, shells, sandcastles or hearts.

Have guests write a personal message or piece of advice for the bride on a seashell or seashell stationery using permanent glittery pens. If you use paper, you can insert the messages into a bottle complete with sand and shells. Add a cork, and the bride has advice and memories she can turn to through the years
