So I just saw this article about how someone started an etiquette project in toronto where he has cards you can print out and check off the items people need to be reminded of. Here is the link to his website http://torontoetiquetteproject.blogspot.com/

It's...an interesting concept. Not sure how many folks would be willing to play hall (street/transit/store) monitor with folks who would not be amused?

As a Torontonian, I find it somewhat offensive. Yes, there are self-centred folks here (as there are everywhere), but they aren't likely to be shamed into good behaviour. I think the project would have better success if you gave thank you notes to the folks who are behaving in an exemplary manner.
Wouldn't it be far more effective to hand out, say, Timmies cards (even with only $1, just enough for a donut) to everyone who behaves like a model citizen? & with the cost of colour printing, it wouldn't be much more than what is being asked by the webmaster. If someone's going to buy you a treat, you might be less inclined to text on an escalator & knock into someone, or shove a slowpoke fellow transit user when the doors are about to close.
It would be nice to have more info, tho. A single page with somewhat disjointed ideas really doesn't do much for me.
