This was on sale for Cyber Monday at this price and I picked one up. It's a really good deal for a basic laptop. It also comes with an empty ram slot so you can add another 2-4 gigs if you want (I recommend it).

This would make a good netbook, or travel laptop. It has the bare basics...2GB RAM, 320GB harddrive.

I politely disagree. The requirements for Windows 8 are not going to be that much more than Windows 7 -- moreover, any computer you'd be willing to spend a decent amount on today would be beyond what Windows 8 is going to require.
I say spend the money now on whatever it is you truly want. When Windows 8 launches, if it's all it's cracked up to be and you feel the need buy an upgrade to Windows 8 at that time.

Pretty sure KatieMiddleton is just another Spam Bot. No clue why 99Batteries thinks that Canadians would be interested in shipping generic batteries from the UK.
