    @Decaf-no, you cannot donate opened packages to food banks.

    Maybe you can use up cereal in some recipe or give it to the birds...

    I have gone to the food bank in person.
    I have explained that I wanted to donate the cereal, but use the coupon.
    So, in front of the food bank employee, I cut my Kellogg's gas coupon and gave them the cereal.
    They were fine with that last year, because they saw that the box was intact.
    Plus I am a frequent donator and they know me and trust me.
