Hi,
I just have a question on how the government calculates how much you will receive while on mat leave. I was off last year when my son was born until july and this year I will be leaving work in July. I live in ontario I just can't remember how they calculate it. I would really appreciate any insight in this, Thanks

Thanks
I am just worried that I won't get much since when I had my son I have only worked part time at my previous job. Is there a minimum they have to give you I am just curious.

I seem to remember it being a minimum of 600 hours needed to claim mat leave again, but that could just be in Manitoba. There should be info on the government's page if you Google it

I don't believe there is a minimum they HAVE to give you. Lots of folks don't qualify for any.
$815 in Amazon GCs and counting!

Remember, its not just 55% of your wage.. other factors include the number of insurable hours you put in and the area in which you reside as well. Some receive up to $485 per week because they have a lot of insurable hours while others may only receive $100
To claim Maternity leave in Ontario, you must have atleast 600 insurable hours. May be different in other provinces..
