I don't celebrate this day at all - I believe that people shouldn't need a 'special' day to tell their partner how much they mean to them; it should be the norm.
Buying a cute/funny/heartfelt card on any ole normal day 'just because' says more.
But to each their own

I dont like going out on Valentines day - the restaurants are usually too crowded for my taste. I'd rather go out the night before, or the night after, and avoid the crowds and long waits for tables or your meals.
I'm working on the kids' stuff now - got the cards, just gotta get some chocolate hearts and little gifts for my sweethearts.

DH and I have never done v-day. I do however, make it fun for the kids with some decorations, a "love train" (new gingerbread train repurposed from Christmas with v-day candy instead), and felt v-day bags filled with some treats and new dinkies.

Depending on what's up closer to then, either takeout for supper, or I make a special meal.
I always make a wickedly decadent chocolate dessert of some type!

It's 2 days after our anniversary so we tend to celebrate that instead.
We didn't chose the 12th deliberately, it was the first available Saturday we could get.
Short answer : no
long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

my dd1 is excited about v-day. we've been making cards to send to her aunts/uncles etc. we're going to the toronto zoo on the sunday for free admission (daugher made a v-day card for a polarbear). i picked up a couple little things for the mail boxes she made for her and her sister.. i know its a hallmark holiday but meh, it's cute and fun.
dh and i might celebrate on the weekend when restaurants are less busy.

I'll bake a big batch of heart-shaped cookies for the neighbour doggies. Critters may or may not get to taste test (depending on how "helpful" they choose to be they might not get a special meal).
We have 2 anniversaries in Feb (Feb 4th is Quincy cat's & my 5 yr anniversary, & Feb 20 is Lily dog's & my 8 yr anniversary). I usually make something extra yummy for us on those days. & I pan-fry some liver as a special hors d'hoeuvre for them.

I think were going out for dinner with a friend and her bf at a fancy restaurant around then, but it's for her bday, not valentines. We are doing Florida in feb, so thats good enough!
