might be a bit late, but most repair persons do come to the house, but they are pricey. I would suggest trying to find someone on Kijiji.
but depending on what is wrong with your dryer you may be able to fix it yourself if your handy and if its not a digital one.
If it turns on and no heat that is easy to fix. If its something else call someone.
I have fixed my own dryer coil which looks scary but isn't really. The back of dryer panel comes off easily enough and you have ample access to the coil and you can buy a new coil from a applicance parts store. (make sure your dryer is unplugged if you attempt this!!)
PS Depending on what they want to charge you it might be cheaper to buy a used one from Kijiji too! Good luck I hate it when things break.

We're in the same boat. My dryer just stopped working too. It turns on and heats, but isn't turning the wash. I'm hoping that our friend can help figure it out, but if not I'd love to know about an appliance repair in Winnipeg as well. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I used to use Reliable Parts when I worked for a furniture and appliance store in Winnipeg however I hate to get you guys discouraged, but in my experience with dryers...they are often not worth fixing and better just to go get a new or used one.

Midland Appliances are quite cheap. They also have what they call an "Insider's Club night" once a month (you have to phone the store and find out when the next charity night is) where they get a warehouse full of scratch and dent appliances (some worse than others) and you can go pick up cheap appliances. It is usually from 6-8pm two evenings in the week however best selection is to get there early on the first night and do your research first about what you are looking for.. It is at 367 Poplar (in Elmwood) and all the money from it goes to a different charity each month.

Especially because dryers are the cheaper out of the pair in my opinion from dealing with them, generally they aren't worth fixing. My washer went in October, while I was on mat leave so obviously not a whole lot of spare money floating around to buy a new set so right now I have a mismatched pair... Bought a new front loader but refuse to buy the new dryer until ours goes as well.

    Hope this helped.

Even though companies advertise that they work saturdays, they do not!!! BOO

My dryer is only 3 years old, digital one. According to the error code it is just a sensor.

I have a company coming out on Friday pm. I hope that they have the part i need. I really need to do laundry.
