One of my relatives is pregnant, so my family is planning a diaper party for her. So I was wondering what is a good deal for diapers?

Freshco has a Mega Pack of Huggies (up to 72 in a bag, depending on size) on sale (starting tomorrow) for $14.97 - $1.50 (smart source) = $13.47....is this a good deal?

    Thanks

That's an okay and pretty average sale price for the mega pack, and maybe that's okay if you're just buying one package as a gift. The best sale deals after coupons are 10 cents a diaper for sizes 1-3 and about 15-20 cents a diaper for sizes 4-6. Of course, sometimes people find a crazy clearance deal and spend $5 a bag minus a $2 or $3 coupon, but those deals are few and far between. Generally, the bigger the diaper size, the more expensive the diaper, and the fewer the diapers in the box. "Premium" diaper types (like Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers) tend to be more expensive than the basic diaper lines)

Usually, bigger boxes on sale end up to be cheaper per diaper, but watch the unit price. About a week ago at a store, I found that 200 diapers cost $34.00 after coupons if I bought bags, but $32.99 after coupon if I bought about 160 in a large box. The bags were the better deal.

Thanks Minou, that's very helpful! The diaper party is a while away, so maybe I will hold off til a better deal comes around

I always calculate cost on size 3 diapers to keep an average, and $.15 each at size three is an excellent, stock-up price
