Well I dropped the ball, DD reminded me 2 weeks ago that she needed new shoes for the HS Semi formal coming up. She was being so frugal to wear the steal of a dress that we bought at Smart set for $12.00 at the end of summer.
So DH drove us around after my dental appt. and I was becoming more and more disheartened at the limiting choices a gal with size 11 muckers has. Many do not even accommodate that size in dress shoes, but whatever. Then the price can be steeper than you want if you luck into a pair, but you almost feel forced to settle. Oh and lets not forget the " old lady " styles that I could never ask her to wear.
We were on store #5 and still nothing, then while trying to squeeze into yet another size 10 and failing, she lost it, the water works began, completely and utterly out of character for my strong and composed DD. I of course start before I even know why she is upset. Poor DH , " deer in the headlights " look at the two of us.
We composed ourselves, DH and I assured her no matter what we will find her a pair.
So " Thank you " ( to the wonderful gal at Payless ), if it was not for her none of the rest of this would have happened. She heard our sadness when I asked where do young girls with large feet get their pretty shoes, and she took it upon herself to phone around many stores asking which styles they had in stock in her size.
DD wanted black ones for the dress, but out of despair tried a pair of nude colour 4 inch heels in her size and they were awesome! The gal convinced her that it would go with her dress ( even though she never saw the dress! ha ha nude matches all I guess ??)
Well with the BOGO I wondered if anyone had the black ones available, and the gal found a store to hold them for us. They would give us the 1/2 price when we showed them our bill. Total OOP for 2 ( two) pairs
$67.58...well we know her feet ain't growing anymore right?? lol
So once we left Payless DH says, we need to get you a NEW DRESS!
( I almost fell over laughing ) I am thinking...does he have any idea what I just paid to get 2 new pairs of shoes??
Final best part of this silly blabber is we got her 2 ( two) new semi formal-ish dresses at Reitman's!! Who would ever have thought they would have any cute and young enough styles and both dresses came to a grand total of $34.39 WITH tax!
We get the Mom and Dad save the day award for now.

Check out her new garb!walkonby named me Q-Tip, Turns out I am a FAKE!!! I am NOT even a real animal, but a hand made craft!!

I wear a size 12W so I feel her pain. She's lucky to have such a great mom and dad! The dresses (and shoes) are beautiful! You paid less for two dresses and two shoes than I paid for my dress and I hated it!!

Awesome! Great deals, beautiful dresses and shoes, your DD must be so happy!
I'm still chuckling at your "deer in the headlights" comment, I am known to burst into tears at random moments, so my husband gets that look too lolMy Family from WiddlyTinks.com
