I had my daughter at 19 almost 20 now she's 14 and she has a new brother 4 and sister 2 with my husband. Same as above takes a man to be a dad!
When we go out everyone says things about my sister - I correct them and they stare and tell me how young I look to have a daughter that old - I tell them in my twenties I pickled myself with Tequila and it breaks the ice.Last edited by princesskimmi; Tue, Feb 7th, 2012 at 02:42 PM.

As the child of a teen mom I can tell you it will be tough but it maybe so worth it in the long run. My mom was 17 when she got pregnant with me. Times were different then (I will be 45 soon), but it does not change the fact that you will give your child such a unique life experience & don't ever think for a second that is a bad thing. I am frugal and smart with my money becuase I had teenage parents. I learned life lessons about money and doing without that I can not begin to teach my children (11 & 8). I truly think I am a better person today because of the lessons I learned as a result of my teenage parents. Really we grew up together and my mom is without a doubt my best friend. We laugh about the fact that will be able to live in a retirement home together. So huge kudos to all of you out there

I had my son at age 17, and he is turning 19 this summer. I can't believe how the time flies by. It really was like yesterday that I was in University, struggling to make ends meet for him, my daughter (whom I had at 19), and myself. Now he is enrolled at the same University, and I couldn't be any prouder.
Being a single, teen mom of 2 wasn't easy, but I wouldn't change a second of my life!

I had my daughter at 17 she is now 12. I was not with her Dad by the time she was born but he has always been a great Dad to her. I have been with my partner now for 10 years and he is also amazing to her and our son as well as the rest of his family. I was lucky to have the help of my parents and some great friends when she was born, and now my partner and his family. I hear horror stories of sperm donar Dads and new familys and count my lucky stars.

So happy for you...and your family

My son's father does not see him. He saw him here and there and then not for a few yrs not even a phone call! Then all of a sudden he wanted full custody !! He told my son if he does not come live with him he would never see or speak to him again! That was 6 yrs ago and he has never even talked him! He just wanted me to pay child support!! He has had his lisence taken away because he has not paid support!RRRLF:gluten free,Dove Bar soap,Dove deo,

I wan't a teen mom - but have a 20 year old son - who is absolutely wonderful!
He didn't go through any teen rebellion - had a bit of a moody period, but nothing serious.
He's still at home, going to tech school.

Hello to all of you great stories & thanks for sharing! I also became a teen mom at 19 years old to a son and 10 1/2 later at the age of 20 had my second child my daughter, and at 22 had my 3rd and final child a son all of which I'm very proud of even when they do the unthinkable & stupid. They are now 15, 14, and 12 years old. Their father was a abusive man and never had paid his child support and still chooses to not pay so I have never depended on it (last time I checked about 30,000 behind, based on 295.00 per month from 2005). I've supported them on my own for the beginning of their lives. Now I'm with someone DH (almost 12 years in July) whose been their dad, shared in bills, milestones, etc. and we wouldn't change a thing. I also made leaps and bounds I went back to college and got my diploma as a certified dental assistant. I remember days of not having much or working 3 jobs (never had a day off) to make ends meet or making sure the kids had those special items. Biggest lesson learned was that I am much stronger then what I was aware. Something that I learned years ago and still live by today and try to teach my own kids "If you don't want nothing, you get nothing" meaning if you don't work hard to get something you won't have it given to you. And in the short time of being a member here I've also learned valuable money saving skills (wish I knew about this years ago, but somehow still got bye).

My mother had me when she was 15.
She was also pregnant before me, I was one of those babies created for the sole purpose of trying to keep my "father" around, but that didn't work so well for her
My grandparents pretty much raised me. My mother is mentally ill, my childhood was a struggle but meh... made me who I am today I suppose.
My mother cried and nearly went into convulsions when she met her grandson for the first time. She was a grandmother at 38 and always scolds me for making her feel old. I just tell her it was her fault for having me so young

Sometimes I don't feel old enough to parent....especially the teen years. I think because mine were so different and I took on so much responsiblity so young and other times I feel like I have never grown past 17. In a way I feel I don't have enough eggs in my basket to pass out
