My dad bought a new computer in early January from Tiger Direct in Markham Ontario using his credit card. Just this week we have discovered that that there has been a cash advance widthdrawal from his credit card account billed $200 from Tiger Direct dated January 31, 2012.
We are 100% sure that this is a scam because we were not present in the store on the 31st nor had any contact with them after our computer purchase. Plus, who does a cash advance at a store.. can you even do that!?
Anyways buyer beware, This place LOOKS reputable but is not please do not be fooled. We were able to reprt this to visa and have it resolved but it is just best not to shop there in the first place. This thread is currently associated with: Tiger Direct

I'd highly suggest you contact them & find out what is going on; they are a reputable company that many people use and recommend. Be very careful what you publicly accuse a company of doing without getting more information.

I'm going to go out on a limb here - It's possible that someone who works at the store gained your Dad's credit card info and used it. As others said, Tiger Direct is a reputable company and I really don't think the company themselves would be scamming people. I had this happen to me once with a debit card at Wal-Mart - I purchased something there and not half an hour later I received an e-mail from my bank saying someone was trying to gain access to my on-line account....not Wal-Mart's fault, but rather someone at the store got my info (somehow) and attempted to access it.
