FREE 2011 income tax preparation software

Well it's that time off year again.....income tax season. I don't so much hate doing my taxes but hate having to pay to do them! Tax preparation companies like H&R Block are way to pricey, I just can't bring my self to spend $20+ to buy a program to put on my computer to use ONE time to do my taxes and doing them myself lol not going to happen.

So a few years ago I searched on the net and found this awesome program called Studio tax and it is 100% FREE. It is super easy and you can use it to efile your taxes through the CRA, and I usually have my refund within 2 weeks or less with direct deposit! I thought I would share the link and hope others can get some good use out of it too. :)

I personally have used ufile.ca for several years and enjoy their interface and techniques to maximize returns. IN the past, there was also a promo code for free returns for students and those with lower incomes.

I concur. I have used this program for years now and anything you can do with the other "paid" programs, you can do with Studio Tax. If you are in a position to pay a fee for the software, wouldn't it be nice to support a company that offers free services to those who can't afford?

yep! great software, highly recommended! This will be my 4th year using studio tax, I might consider making a donation to them this year, they saved me lots of money and time :) prior to finding studio tax, I was actually filling in and sending paper forms.

I've been using StudioTax since 2007. I love it! Just installed the pre-approved verison today :) I compared StudioTax against 3 of the other major for-pay software packages, and StudioTax came up with the highest tax return for me....and the Government refunded it :)

Thanks! I just found out that ODSP (disability) don't get a tax refund anymore :( so this will come in handy!

Thanks for the info. Am I understanding it correctly that if you have a mac you cannot use it as you need windows?
