I just called PBM holdings in the US to find out if they manufacture all the store brands of formula around here. We probably already knew this, but they manufacture
Parents Choice (Walmart)
President's Choice (Loblaws)
Kirkland (Costco)
Life Brand/Nativa (Shoppers Drug Mart)
The rep. said that some formulations may differ slightly by retailer, so it would be interesting to know how different they really are. (Maybe they're not very different at all, and can be used interchangeably based on what's on sale?) Once my LO gets through the first few sensitive months on his very expensive Enfamil, we're going to try it.

we used Safeway storebrand for ds1. 4 yeas ago it was $12 and we got a 10% employee discount. They go through ALOT of formula....no way were we going to pay $25+ every 2ish weeks... They are all basically the same. They have to meet certain standards to be sold as an infant formula. Its is more important to find a formula your baby tolerates then to buy the newest most expensive brand. We did talk to our doctor and health nurses about buying the storebrand and they agreed with us.

We used Walmart brand for DD, it cost me about $12 for a large can. We breastfed for the first 6ish months, than switched.
She tolerated it very well, and the ingredients/nutritional information is comparable to Nestle Goodstart.

I tried a lot of different formulas with my daughter who had a sensitive stomach. Stuck with walmart liquid concentrate after switching from enfamil and had no problems. costco brand is most similar to similac (no palm oil) as well
