I've stripped many pieces of furniture using various methods. If I strip a table top only, I use Minwax Antique Furniture Refinisher-Gently dissolves old finish without stripping. I like this because it just cleans up the surface. I apply it very carefully so as not to drip anywhere and use steel wool to remove the surface - very quick and easy and not messy like "stripping" furniture. Apply whatever protective finish you want. PM me if you have any questions.

Congrats for the good work. What products did you choose to refinish it?

I haven't refinished it yet. Right now, I'm waiting for the weather to get warm enough to start the sanding process outside. My next step is to get a proper sander and maybe start with a 200 grit sandpaper.
