If you register on-line you can still get a gift bag from Babies R Us. Just tell the associate that you registered on-line. They will look it up and give you a gift bag plus a coupon for $5.oo off if you spend $50.
Gift bags vary. The new ones are really nice and full of gifts.
If you plan on registering it is better to go in the daytime rather than on weekends when the store is busy. You will get better help during the day. If you are having a shower it is best to put at least 50 items on the list. Don't put on things like pacifiers and clothing cause usually people don't want to buy you little things. Most people want to spend $30 plus dollars on a gift. You can buy the little things yourself. You can also add notes to the registry, so if you want clothing just let the people know in that section that any clothing would be appreciated. People who are buying from a registry get so upset if they can't find things on it and would like to buy something for you that they like. I think it is fun to get a surprise gift too.

Hmm... I've been trying to register for the last two weeks and every time I submit the form it tells me the site is down... anyone else having this problem?

I registered and when I went in to add items they gave me nothing. Does anyone know of any other good registrys?

Also... The sears registry has a cool one. It's called the waiting game, if you correctly guess the day your baby is born you win back all your purchases or something... I'm not a hundred percent on how it works but I think there's another thread for it kicking around somewhere

recently got a nuby sippy cup, wipes, lotion samples and nursing pads as mentioned but there was no coupon.

awesome..strange they would give you a sippy cup, you won't be using that for a while!!!!! but still will come in handy later on

Hmm, when I registered I got a Nuby sippy cup too, but I also got a BornFree bottle! I also don't recall a coupon in mine though Although I had lots of samples of stuff like breast pads, lanolin and penitin.

I got a Born Free bottle, Nuby sippy cup, a bunch of wipes and diaper samples and some coupons... but my friend just went and got hers and she didn't get the born free bottle or the sippy cup... We both went to the Toys R Us in Metrotown but a week apart...

I TRIED and TRIED to get this but no luck. I registered online before I saw this. I went into the store once and they said that I had to print something off. So i went home, printed the registry, and went back. I was told that I printed the wrong thing. It should look like a coupon(?). I was very confused at this point so I emailed the website. They told me it was an in store promotion and only the store could help me. Grrr! Don't they know what pregnancy hormones do to us when this happens? I gave up.

When I edited my registry they sent me an email, which had a coupon for a free gift bag as part of it. I just printed it and took it into the store, you needed to do that within 30 days of creating the registry.

I just went and registered today. I got a bag full of goodies including the nubby cup, a playtex bottle, J&J shampoo, penaten, Sudocreme, wipes, breast pads, a couple different lotions, 2 washcloths, and in separate packages, a Huggies diaper and wipes and a similac box that contains a travel bag, 2 Similac ready to use formulas, a $5.00 coupon and hospital checklist! Wooo hooo...good haul for baby today! lol.

I did mine online then later saw in-store that you can get the gift bag and they gave it to me plus the similac and travel bag. didn't look it up or anything.
