The post you show was placed in the voting section, and I think thats what that thread is for, although I still don't agree with people joining just to ask members to vote for them when they have not contributed a single thing to the forum. However, in my circumstance, a person I don't know, has contacting me, and apparently a lot of others demanding we vote for them. You should not go around pm'ing members and TELLING them they have to vote for you, and threatening them if they don't.

Who cares? Just delete.

If you join a forum, you should except spam, rude people etc. You can simply browse the site without logging in or make a fake login to post deals and don't check your PM if it bothers you that much. Is this site really worth getting upset about lol ??

I got a pm once and did what she asked! She asked in a kind manner and her kid was adorable. I would never of voted for her though if she would have been harassing and rude.

It can sometimes be more than one person, this seems to be a real problem from the amount of people I hear from. All I can say is if this happens to you, please, please send the mods a copy of your pm and hopefully the person bothering you won't be doing it any longer. We need to send a message to these people that this is a great site, with great people, AND this type of harassment will not be tolerated.

Some people have been on this site for a long long time and have worked hard to establish contacts, trade ratings, friends, and a good rep. No one should have to make a fake account so that they are not bothered by spammers!! In fact this site has alot of MODS that work very hard to keep this place clear of spammers!! Dont check your PM's? for those of us who get mulitiple PM's a day about trades, trains, and just talking with friends, its hard not check your alerts. So yes, I think getting harrassing PM's is something to get upset about!!!! OP was right to report to the MODS!

I'm sorry, but I've had enough. Again tonight, I was sent a pm from someone that was apparently requesting that I VOTE for them..... I didn't understand what they were asking at first, I thought they wanted to vote for me in some contest, so I told them I didn't do those types of contests and wished them a great evening.

I got back a snarky pm saying they would love to have a great night if I could just do what they wanted?????? I checked this persons profile to see what was up. They joined our community about 3 weeks ago and every thread they have made is requesting VOTES for either them, their daughter, their family and so on. Vote for my art so I can win an iPad, vote for my daughter so I can win a trip, vote for me so I can win a makeover

It really bothers me. This is a great community that helps ourselves and others with huge amounts of information. Yes once in a while someone will request votes for a contest, BUT these people are contributing members of our forums.

I really wish this type of behavior was not allowed, especially when this person has sent me 5 pm's tonight alone, getting upset at me for not voting for them. This person has done this to me a week ago too.

The whole concept of asking for votes is irritating

Why should your ugly/ no talent kid/pet/craft etc get more votes than anyone else's kid just because you have more friends/associates? Same with multiple votes from same person.

Contests are to weed out the best from the rest imo.
