Someone asked this by PM but I thought I would share in case others do not know
To put a user on ignore, simply go to User CP (click settings) and scroll down. On the left it will say Edit Ignore List (http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/profile.php?do=ignorelist)
Click that and scroll down to
Add a Member to Your List...
Their posts will now be minimized by default (if you want to read an individual post by the user, you can click view post on it) and you will not receive reps or PMs from them

I did it another way, I went to the person's profile page and the option is there on the left hand side under their profile pic.

Yes, but then the person sees you visited their profile page, and if there is already drama, it can cause more

Interesting, I thought ignore meant their posts then couldn't be seen by you - but thanks FP for the information.

It does mean their posts can't be seen by you, unless you click each one to say view, which is there so threads make more sense (but also they cant use forum ways to contact you)

Yes, it is far from fool proof but it does keep most of the stuff away from your eyes

So they can still see your posts? Is there a way to block them completely? They cant see yours, you cant see theirs?

Nope, can't be done Jenny - also, if it's someone with any sort of... powers, you can't even use the feature on them at all, only on regular members.
