2 Links posted on the McGavin's Bread Basket Winnipeg FB page (Feb 28th and Mar 7th). Coupons are for Winnipeg, but will be honoured at all stores in Western Canada. Each city has its own FB page so search for your area. They also post daily, and weekly specials on their pages.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

thats what Mcgavins store are....dont go in expecting the best of the best and LOOK OVER THE PRODUCTS BEFORE YOU BUY!
I used to work in a store where we sold "day old bread" theres nothing wrong with it if you buy it right away and freeze it.
Just be smart about it, its a GREAT deal!!!!
thanks so much for this thread! I'm sure more people will appreciate it.

I have had pretty good luck with Mcgavin's. The discount section is for the stuff that is about to expire. I put in the freezer and it is usually pretty good (especially for $.80/loaf). They also sell fresh bread. The price is more than the discount but far less than in grocery stores.

I buy bread regularly from Mcgavins. They have an extra % off every last Friday of the month here. You do have to look over the discount stuff carefully. I steer clear of things that are "light" breads like hot dog buns unless I am going to use them right away. I buy more of the "heartier" breads and bagels. They seem to stay fresh longer. I keep my bread in the fridge to keep it from spoiling. I am sorry you had a bad experience.
