Today is worldwide NF awareness day. May is NF awareness month. NF is neurofibromatosis, which means tumors of nerve endings (any nerve anywhere in the body). Watch for the blue and green awareness lights on the CN Tower, Niagara Falls and other locations around the province. Watch for people wearing blue and green or with facebook profiles in blue and green. Help us spread the word about NF - share the conversation.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a term for three distinct disorders: NF-1, NF-2, and schwannomatosis. NF causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body and can lead to blindness, bone abnormalities, deafness, disfigurement, learning disabilities, loss of limbs and excruciating disabling pain. In some instances even cancer. NF-1 affects one in every 3000 people and is more common than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Huntington’s disease combined.

So today I'm going to cut out a pattern for myself, then we have to pack up my older sewing machine and a few boxes of dishes, glassware and clothes I've shrunk out of. A couple of them even have tags on them...grr. Then off to Michaels or HomeSense for a nice big box for the quilt and done. Heading to camp on Friday.
@danger_dan , good luck with your presentations...I know you'll do a brilliant job!!

Enjoy the game with your Son, Hicks! Wish our kids knew how much we treasure being with them. And yes, it seems one disaster after another for the Jays. What a disappointment so far this year.

I'm like on a second wind, was up at 2, then went back to sleep before 7 for a few hours. Don't like this - and it's day three of it.
However, I feel okay, just a little spacey - which is sometimes not a bad thing!

OMG I am so f'n MAD right now - our bank account has been hacked - numerous ATM withdrawals from US banks, how is that even possible? Adds up to thousands, gah!
Will go to credit union in the morning, but that doesn't help my BP tonight! argh!

I spent most of today getting my glasses frame fixed. The metal broke and the eye-quacks couldn't fix the frame and sent me to the jeweler's shop to get the frame soldered..

Turns out I haven't had an appt since early 2004...so I'm seeing them next week but am on standby if some-one cancels...
