Thread: Refreshing foods/drinks for dogs on a hot day?

    My friend and i are going to walk my 2 dogs to the park, and sinse it is hot out, what are some refreshing little foods/ drinks for dogs other than water? Please include recipe if it requires. Thankyou!

    I would nothing other than water, and small pieces of treats. The heat will get to any animal on hot days, even a lot of water can make them sick. I wouldnt bring them out for very long either depending on the temperatures.

    I take a big mixing bowl, fill it with water and add treats, kibble, a piece of carrot... whatever he likes and then freeze it. A doggy popsicle!, It keeps him cool and also occupies him for a while.

    Actually, I thought that was a good idea too for a long time (ice cubes in general) but there's been research done that shows that giving dogs water that is too cold (and ice especially) can lead to muscle spasms and a lot of pain for the dog. It's pretty scary stuff. Be careful!
